Give an Hour improves the mental health and emotional wellbeing of all persons through three pillars of work: access to mental health care, mental health literacy and culture change. Most notably, Give an Hour provides barrier free access to mental health care for service members, veterans and loved ones as well as those affected by natural or man-made disaster. We invite all licensed mental health professionals to join us in serving the world.

💡 How does research drive real-world change?
We’re proud to share that Dr. Trina Clayeux, CEO of Give an Hour, will deliver the keynote address at the University of Phoenix’s 12th Annual Knowledge Without Boundaries Summit — October 16–18, 2025.
Dr. Clayeux will explore how hope, mental health, and innovation intersect — connecting the art and science of hope to the future of mental well-being in action.
🎓 Hosted by the University of Phoenix College of Doctoral Studies, this virtual summit brings together 700+ scholars, practitioners, and leaders for three days of collaboration on scholarship, society, and change.
This week’s motivation: give yourself permission to pause. ☕
Your mind and body deserve rest as much as your to-do list deserves effort.
Let rest be part of your productivity.

We believe in evidence-based hope.
With support from Amgen, we’re bringing rare community & caregivers together for trauma-informed peer support—bridging the gap between clinical research and emotional care.
Because data tells one story. Caregivers tell another. And when we listen to both, healing happens.

Give an Hour's mission is to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to both acute and chronic conditions that arise within our society.
In 2018 alone, our nearly 7,000 volunteer mental health providers have given 42,000 hours of care through Give an Hour. That equals 115 hours of support a day to help those who are experiencing mental health challenges including trauma, loss and anxiety.
We built this network because people like you believe in our mission. When I founded Give an Hour in 2005, it was to address the mental health needs of our veterans, service members, and their families. In 2015, Give an Hour expanded to address the mental health needs of other populations including at risk teens, survivors of gun violence and those affected by natural disasters and man-made traumas.
To date, Give an Hour providers have donated more than 277,000 hours of free care valued at more than $27 million and we remain committed to identifying the emerging mental health needs of Americans so that we can care for them through our programs and services.
Just as Americans line up to give blood after major disasters, Give an Hour providers also stand by to offer mental health care to those affected by trauma. After Parkland, we were there. After Hurricane Florence, we were there. After Tree of Life and Thousand Oaks, we were there. And we will be there for the next community or national disaster.
We couldn't do the important work that we do without the support of our generous providers, sponsors, donors and volunteers. Our providers offer their expertise and time at no cost.
