🌅 Grateful hearts & strong bodies this week at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos! 🌴✨
My very first teaching vacation with Fit Bodies, Inc. has been such a joy! Guests brought incredible energy — showing up bright and early for 💪 Strength HIIT and winding down with 🌊 Stretch sessions overlooking the ocean.
It was amazing to see such enthusiasm all week — the entertainment team even mentioned these were some of the largest group fitness turnouts they’ve seen! 🙌
A huge thank you to Fernando, Iván, Miguel, Manuel, and Axel for all their help and support during my stay — you made everything run so smoothly and made me feel right at home. 💙
So thankful for this opportunity and for every guest who showed up ready to move, laugh, and sweat in paradise. 💖☀️

“Knees out” should be achieved without rolling to the outsides of the feet. Check out this awesome video and explanation. You might spot this in a friend or yourself!

RepostBy :
"Watch the knees of this lifter as she performs a push press. There appears to be a lot of wobbling around, however it’s not until we slow it down we see why. As she goes into her dip, notice how her feet roll to the side. This is a common fault some lifters show when they too heavily use the cue “drive the knees wide” and don’t solidify their foot stability. On her drive phase, her knees aren’t collapsing into a problematic valgus position but rather just returning to an aligned vertical position.
To work on this, we had her trap a resistance band look under the base of her toes. The idea is to maintain this band against the ground so as to not lose the tripod foot position. When cuing to keep the band from snapping out – you can see this horizonal knee waver was significantly cut down – showing she was on the right track to making this lift more mechanically efficient.
Shout out to & for the collaboration in managing this lifting issue!"

"Yes this tip is goofy, but it works for some people to actually perform the hip hinge correctly.🤷🏼😂 Todays clip comes from my recent YouTube tutorial featuring on how to perfect the RDL movement.
Shout out to for the amazing anatomy graphics used in todays post."

Call it a shoulder blade or scapula, it’s largest bone in the structures of your shoulder.
17 different muscles are attached to it!
That’s a lot of muscles depending on healthy shoulder blades.
Addressing trigger points in these muscles using dry needling with electrical stimulation helps them work more efficiently to protect your shoulder and promote optimal movement patterns. Now get out there and use em!!!💪🏻💥🏋🏼🙆‍♀️

Dry Needling For The Throwing Athlete

As part of the protecting mechanism for the elbow, the muscles that cross the joint will stabilize in order to decrease the strain on the ligaments. With repetitive movement, any of these muscle can experience symptoms of overuse such as pain, fatigue, and weakness.
Correct application of dry needling improves blood circulation, stimulates the healing cycle and improves muscle activation patterns. This means fewer injuries and faster recovery!💪🏻

Fantastic exercise for functional stability. Notice the slow and controlled decent with very minimal side to side knee movement👍• While this exercise looks pretty simple and uninspiring, it’s been one of the greatest additions to my routine in the past year..
The focus is not on the “up” phase of the movement, where the muscles in the front of the leg are shortening, or concentrically loading. Think of this as the accelerator on the muscle..
The focus is on the “down” phase of this movement, where those muscles are lengthening, or eccentrically loading. Think of this as the brakes on the muscle..
Most of the time we are lifting weights we are focusing on former, not the latter. But the latter matters just as much. (There is some nuance here—the concentric phase may contribute more to strength while eccentric may contribute more to hypertrophy.).
Most people would rather walk down a hill than up a hill, and while your cardiovascular system is more taxed walking up hill, your body is much more taxed walking down, especially if you’re carrying any load (think: hiking)..
Ergo, in an effort to strengthen the brakes in my legs, I do this exercise and many like it regularly. (If you want to see another variation of it, check out the video series with where we do a version of this that focuses on rib and scapular positioning, which I recommend you master before you move to a “loaded” version of this).
I used to dread hiking down steep hills with a loaded backpack while hunting, but after 6 months of this routine, I don’t even notice it.

Our Story

As a Physical Therapist for more than a dozen years, my passion is to help people do the things they love. I utilize a variety of treatment techniques, however, dry needling has proven to be one of the best forms of treatment I can offer. Clients experience faster results and more gains when dry needling is correctly implemented into their treatment programs.

Dry Needling treatment involves inserting thin, solid filament needles into muscles. Low level electrical stimulation is then added to amplify the positive effects of the treatment. It acts as a reset button for the muscles, improving their function and releasing painful trigger points. It allows increased blood flow, muscle relaxation, and stimulation of pain reducing neurotransmitters. New injuries heal faster, and even chronic pain is affected. Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of conditions including shoulder pain, headaches, back pain, TMJ dysfunction, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, and more. You can expect improvements in flexibility, mobility, muscle recruitment, healing response and pain relief. Don’t let pain or injury limit your quality of life - move better and achieve more with Functional Dry Needling by Jamie.
