⚡️ Mitochondria Reset Week

7 days to recharge your cellular energy — naturally.

Let’s nourish your body’s power plants (your mitochondria!) with simple daily practices. No extremes. No expensive stacks. Just habits that work.

🌞 DAY 1: SUNLIGHT + MOVEMENT
→ Get 10–15 min of morning sunlight
→ Go for a walk or gentle workout to boost mitochondrial density
☀️ Light + movement = mitochondrial activation

🍋 DAY 2: MINERAL HYDRATION
→ Start your day with lemon water + sea salt
→ Add trace mineral drops to your water 1–2x today
💧 Hydrated cells = efficient energy

🍽️ DAY 3: MITO MEAL FOCUS
→ Include healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, ghee)
→ Add leafy greens, pasture-raised protein + root veggies
→ Bonus: Liver or egg yolks for CoQ10 + B vitamins
🥑 Mitochondria love real food

🛌 DAY 4: DEEP REST
→ Power down devices 1 hour before bed
→ Try magnesium glycinate or chamomile tea
→ Aim for 7–9 hrs of uninterrupted sleep
🌙 Repair happens during sleep

🌿 DAY 5: HERBAL SUPPORT
→ Choose one: Nettle, red raspberry, or dandelion tea
→ Optional: Add alpha lipoic acid or CoQ10 today
🍵 Herbs + key nutrients = gentle detox + fuel

💨 DAY 6: BREATH & STRESS RESET
→ Practice 5 deep breaths (inhale 4s / exhale 6s)
→ Walk barefoot, journal, or take a tech-free hour
→ Sing, hum, or gargle to activate the vagus nerve
🧘 Less stress = better mitochondrial function

🔥 DAY 7: OPTIONAL COLD EXPOSURE
→ Splash face with cold water or end your shower cool
→ Feel the zing? That’s your mitochondria waking up
→ Follow with a warming herbal tea + gratitude practice
❄️ Small hormetic stressors = mitochondrial strength

💛 BONUS TIP:

If you’re using supplements, go slow and steady:
Start with magnesium, then layer in B complex or CoQ10 if needed. Your body will guide you!

Mitochondria Health: Part 2 🔋🌿 — Signs of Dysfunction & Smart Supplement Support

So you’re learning about mitochondrial health—and maybe wondering, how do I know if mine need support?

Here are a few subtle signs your mitochondria might be running low:

😴 Chronic fatigue, even after good sleep
🧠 Brain fog or forgetfulness
💥 Slow recovery from workouts or illness
🔥 Inflammation, aches, or pain that lingers
🌪️ Hormonal imbalances or irregular cycles
🌡️ Cold hands/feet or trouble regulating temperature
😓 Low stress resilience or feeling “wired but tired”
👵 Premature aging or low skin elasticity

If you’re nodding “yes” to several of these—don’t panic. The solution isn’t a $300 protocol. It’s getting back to basics and knowing which targeted support actually works.

✨ Smart Supplement Support (No Fear, Just Function):

🧬 CoQ10 (Ubiquinol form)
Helps spark energy in every cell—especially for heart, brain, and fertility health. Levels decline with age and certain meds (like statins).

🧬 Magnesium (glycinate or malate)
Critical for ATP production and calming the nervous system. Most people are deficient.

🧬 B-Complex (methylated)
Helps convert food into energy and supports mitochondrial enzyme function.

🧬 L-Carnitine
Transports fatty acids into mitochondria to burn as fuel. Especially helpful for fatigue, brain fog, and slow metabolism.

🧬 Alpha Lipoic Acid
A potent antioxidant that helps reduce mitochondrial stress + supports blood sugar balance.

🧬 PQQ (Pyrroloquinoline quinone)
Supports new mitochondria creation. Small but mighty—this one’s for more advanced support.

🧬 Minerals (trace & electrolytes)
Think sea salt, fulvic/humic acid, or mineral drops in your water. Mitochondria need a mineral-rich environment to thrive.

✨ Reminder: Supplements should support your body—not replace foundational care. Clean food, light, movement, rest, and reducing toxin load are still the non-negotiables.

Let’s shift from fear-based biohacking to empowered, informed wellness. 🌞

Want help building a simple, intentional mitochondrial support routine? I’ve got you.

Let’s Talk Mitochondria 🔋💛 — What It Is, Why It Matters & How to Support It Naturally

You’re going to hear a lot more about mitochondrial health in the wellness world soon. And while the buzz is just beginning, here’s the truth:

👉🏼 Your mitochondria are the powerhouses of your cells—literally. They take the food you eat + the oxygen you breathe and turn it into energy (called ATP). That energy powers everything: your brain, hormones, digestion, immune system, fertility, mood, skin—you name it.

🧬 When mitochondria are damaged or sluggish?
You might feel:
• Fatigue or brain fog
• Hormonal imbalance
• Premature aging
• Inflammation
• Slow healing
• Low resilience to stress or illness

But instead of fear-mongering you into a $100 mystery powder, here’s what to know:

✨ You can support your mitochondria naturally by giving your body what it needs to make clean, efficient energy.

Here’s where to start:

🌿 Foundational nutrients
• Magnesium – needed in nearly every step of energy production
• CoQ10 – especially important after age 30 for heart + brain energy
• B vitamins – fuel mitochondrial processes (look for methylated forms)
• L-Carnitine – helps shuttle fat into mitochondria for energy
• Alpha-lipoic acid – supports detox + reduces oxidative stress

🧘🏽‍♀️ Lifestyle upgrades
• Sunlight + red light – support mitochondrial signaling
• Quality sleep – where the real repair happens
• Intermittent movement – gentle activity boosts mitochondrial density
• Minerals – potassium, sodium, calcium, and trace minerals all matter

🍽️ Real food first
Before grabbing a supplement, focus on nutrient-dense meals with healthy fats (hello, mitochondria love them!), leafy greens, organ meats, and hydrating electrolytes.

🌬️ Stress & toxins = mitochondrial drain
Protect your energy by reducing processed foods, alcohol, synthetic fragrances, and chronic stress—your mitochondria will thank you.

You don’t need hype or fear to take care of your body—you need understanding, intention, and nature’s tools. 💛

Natural Ways to Support Fertility 🌿💛 (For Body, Mind + Spirit)

Fertility isn’t just about “trying to conceive”—it’s about nourishing your whole self. Whether you’re actively planning or just wanting to support your cycle and hormones, here are some gentle, natural ways to invite balance and fertility into your life:

🌿 Nourish your body with whole foods! Focus on warm, blood-building meals with good fats, clean protein, and plenty of colorful veggies. Think: bone broth, leafy greens, pasture-raised eggs, liver, berries, and sweet potatoes.

🍵 Herbal allies
• Red raspberry leaf: tones the uterus and supports hormone balance
• Nettle: rich in minerals and deeply nourishing
• Vitex (chaste tree berry): helps regulate cycles (especially helpful post-birth control)
• Maca: adaptogenic root that supports libido and hormone harmony

🧘🏽‍♀️ Reduce stress
Your nervous system and reproductive system are best friends. Breathwork, yoga, massage, walking, and even just doing less can create safety in the body—and that matters more than we think.

🔥 Support your digestion + liver
Hormones are processed and cleared through your gut and liver. Support detox pathways with fiber, warm lemon water, bitters, and herbal teas like dandelion and milk thistle.

💤 Prioritize rest
Deep sleep = hormone regulation, blood sugar balance, and better ovulation. Try winding down with magnesium, chamomile, or a calming tea blend.

💓 Track your cycle
Get in sync with your body. Learn your signs of ovulation, fertile window, and how your energy shifts throughout your cycle—it’s empowering and informative.

💫 Mind-body connection
Fertility isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. Practices like journaling, womb meditations, visualizations, and intentional prayer or affirmation work can open the heart and support healing.

Fertility is not a race or a checklist. It’s an invitation to reconnect—with yourself, with nature, and with the incredible wisdom of your body. 🌙

Summer & Your Vagus Nerve 🌞💛 (Yes, They’re More Connected Than You Think)

The vagus nerve is your body’s calm switch—it runs from your brainstem all the way to your gut, touching nearly every major organ along the way. It’s in charge of your rest, digestion, mood, and even your immune system.

And guess what? Summer is the perfect time to nourish it.

Here’s how:

🌞 Sunlight
Morning light helps regulate your circadian rhythm and boosts serotonin—the feel-good hormone that supports vagus nerve tone.

🌿 Barefoot grounding
Walking barefoot in the grass or sand helps regulate your nervous system and reconnects you to the earth’s calming frequency.

💦 Cold water dips
Splashing your face with cold water, jumping into a lake, or ending your shower cold? That’s a direct way to stimulate the vagus nerve and kick your body into rest-and-digest mode.

🍓 Seasonal foods
Fresh fruits, herbs, and fermented goodies support the gut microbiome—which talks directly to your vagus nerve all day long.

💨 Deep breathing outside
Breathe in through your nose, exhale longer than you inhale. Combine that with fresh air and sunshine? Instant nervous system reset.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Rest + play
The vagus nerve loves when you laugh, sing, move your body, or spend time with people who make you feel safe. That summer joy? It’s medicine.

Your body was designed to heal—sometimes it just needs the right rhythm, the right season, and a little sunshine. ☀️

Herbs That Help Release Anger 🌿🔥 (Yes, Plants Can Hold Space for That)

Anger is a natural emotion—but when it lingers, simmers, or explodes… it can take a toll on your body, heart, and relationships. The good news? Plants are powerful allies in helping us move that fire rather than suppress it.

Here are a few herbal helpers when you’re holding on to anger, resentment, or emotional heat:

🌿 Lemon balm – Gentle and calming, this herb supports the nervous system and soothes irritation. Think of it as a hug for your heart.

🔥 Skullcap – A go-to for when anger is tied to tension and overwhelm. Helps you release that “boiling point” energy without numbing out.

🌹 Rose – Not just pretty—rose helps open the heart and soften the walls we build when we’ve been hurt or angry. Especially helpful in tea or flower essence form.

🌾 Chamomile – Yes, it’s mild—but don’t underestimate it. Chamomile cools internal heat and helps process emotions stored in the gut.

🌿 Motherwort – For when anger is rooted in fear, protection, or feeling out of control. It brings fierce, motherly calm and grounding.

🌿 Passionflower – Calms the stormy, racing mind. Great when anger shows up as looping thoughts or emotional restlessness.

🌿 Blue vervain – A strong bitter that supports Type-A folks who hold tension in the neck and shoulders. Great for anger that comes from perfectionism or control.

💧 Many of these herbs can be taken as teas, tinctures, or flower essences—gentle, energetic remedies that work on a subtle but powerful level.

Sometimes it’s not about fixing the anger, but letting it move through with support, compassion, and a little help from the plant world. 🌿

Let’s Talk About the Vibe of Your Clothes 👕🌿 — The Vibrational Frequencies of Fabrics

Did you know that the clothes you wear carry energy? Everything has a frequency—even fabric—and it can either raise or lower your vibration.

🌱 Natural fibers = high vibe.
Fabrics like:
• Linen
• Cotton
• H**p
• Wool
• Silk

…all come from the earth and hold higher vibrational frequencies. Linen, for example, has been measured at 5000 Hz, which is higher than the human body’s natural frequency (which averages around 70–90 Hz when healthy). That means wearing linen can raise your vibration just by being on your skin!

🧪 Synthetic fabrics = low vibe.
Fabrics like polyester, nylon, and acrylic are made from petroleum and plastic-based materials. They have little to no energetic life force and have been measured in the 0 Hz range. In short: they don’t do your body (or your energy field) any favors.

✨ Why it matters:
Your body is always in communication with its environment—including what touches your skin. Choosing high-vibe fabrics is a subtle, powerful way to:
• Support your body’s natural energy
• Feel more grounded and vibrant
• Reduce static, irritation, and overstimulation

Next time you’re choosing an outfit, ask: How does this feel energetically? You might be surprised how much your body responds.

What fabrics do you feel best in?

Let’s Talk Herbal Smokes 🌿💨

No, not that kind of smoke… we’re talking herbal blends crafted from plants that support relaxation, lung health, and ritual.

Herbal smokes have been used for centuries—by herbalists, healers, and indigenous cultures—as a tool for connection, grounding, and calming the nervous system. 🌬️✨

Here’s what you need to know:

🌿 What’s in them?
Think calming, aromatic herbs like:
• Mullein – a lung-loving base that helps soothe and clear the respiratory system
• Damiana – gently euphoric and heart-opening
• Skullcap – relieves anxiety and tension
• Lavender – calming and floral
• Rose petals – for heart support and ritual
• Peppermint or sage – clears stagnant energy and sharpens the senses

🌱 Why use them?
Herbal smokes can be a great non-addictive alternative to to***co or simply used as a mindful practice. Whether rolled, burned as incense, or added to ceremonial moments, they can help:
• Ease stress
• Create intentional pause
• Open the lungs and heart
• Replace toxic habits with something soothing and natural

🔥 Important note: Always use high-quality, organic herbs and never inhale anything you’re unsure about. These aren’t meant for daily use—think ritual, not routine.

✨ Whether you’re setting an intention, creating a sacred moment, or just winding down at sunset—herbal smokes offer a beautiful way to reconnect with the plants and yourself.

Ever tried an herbal smoke blend? Curious to try one?

Herbalist’s Summer First Aid Kit ☀️🌿

Summer is full of sunshine, bug bites, sunburns, and the occasional “oops.” Here’s what I keep in my herbalist first aid kit—because nature’s medicine cabinet always has our back.

🌼 Calendula salve – For cuts, scrapes, and skin irritation. Gentle enough for kiddos, powerful enough for healing.

🌿 Plantain leaf – Nature’s “band-aid”! Chew it up and slap it on a sting or bite—seriously. Reduces swelling fast.

🧴 Aloe vera gel – Post-sun skin saver. Cooling, soothing, and hydrating.

🧊 Peppermint essential oil – A couple drops diluted with a carrier oil helps with headaches, overheating, and even nausea.

🦟 Lavender oil – Soothes bites and calms frazzled summer moods. I keep a roller bottle in my bag.

🍯 Raw honey – A natural antibacterial for wounds, plus works for sore throats or allergy flare-ups.

🍃 Yarrow tincture or powder – A go-to for stopping bleeding fast. Also helps with fevers and inflammation.

🔥 Cayenne powder – Believe it or not, it helps stop bleeding and can kickstart circulation during shock or heat exhaustion.

🥤 Chamomile tea bags – Great for calming the nervous system and soothing sunburns or puffy eyes. Use cooled tea as a compress.

🧂 Electrolyte support – Sea salt + lemon water or coconut water for hydration after a hot day (ditch the neon sports drinks!).

🐝 Apitherapy stick or clay – For bee stings and bug bites, I like a little bentonite clay paste or a pre-made herbal sting stick.

Nature truly has it all. 💚 What’s in your natural summer kit?

Holistic Healing Tips for Women 🍓🍊🍇 — Fruit Edition

Sometimes nature really does know best. These fruits aren’t just tasty—they’re full of healing power, especially for women’s health. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use fruit as functional food:

🍍 Pineapple – Anti-inflammatory & great for digestion (thanks to bromelain!). Amazing for easing bloating around your cycle.

🍒 Cherries – Rich in antioxidants + support healthy sleep and hormone balance. Tart cherry juice is a natural source of melatonin.

🍌 Bananas – Full of potassium and magnesium—calming for the nervous system and helpful for PMS symptoms.

🍇 Red grapes – Packed with resveratrol to support heart and skin health. Eat the skins!

🥭 Mango – A gut-loving fruit with enzymes that help break down protein. Plus, the vitamin A supports healthy hormone production.

🍓 Strawberries – Full of vitamin C, great for skin + collagen. Bonus: helps with iron absorption, especially if you’re plant-based.

🍋 Lemon – Detoxifying, supports digestion + liver health. Start the day with warm lemon water and thank me later.

🍎 Apples – High in fiber (especially the skin!) to support healthy elimination and balance blood sugar.

🍊 Oranges – Full of folate, vitamin C, and hydration. Perfect during pregnancy or postpartum.

🥭 Papaya – A gentle digestive aid, especially soothing for gut inflammation and full of vitamin C.

🥥 Coconut – Okay, technically not a fruit, but too powerful to leave off. Hydrating, hormone-supportive fats, and great for blood sugar balance.

Healing can taste delicious. 🍑

Which of these do you love most—or want to start using more intentionally?

11 Things That Healed My Gut (Naturally) 🌿

If you’ve ever struggled with bloating, brain fog, fatigue, or skin issues — chances are your gut’s been trying to get your attention. Healing mine didn’t happen overnight, but these 11 things made a world of difference for me:

1. Cut out processed sugar – this was huge. Sugar feeds the wrong kind of bacteria and throws everything off.

2. 24-hour gut reset – giving my system a break every now and then was a game-changer.

3. Dark leafy greens – I started loading up on kale, arugula, spinach… not just for nutrients, but fiber too.

4. Lemon water – every morning, without fail. Helps digestion and gently detoxes the liver.

5. Fermented foods – hello, kimchi and sauerkraut. A natural source of probiotics that actually stick.

6. Sunshine – not just for vitamin D, but to help regulate my circadian rhythm and stress.

7. Movement – even a daily walk helped get things moving (literally).

8. Probiotics – but not just any kind… I paid attention to quality and strain diversity.

9. Prebiotics – foods like garlic, onion, and asparagus became staples. Gotta feed the good bugs!

10. Herbal teas – peppermint, ginger, fennel… all soothing and supportive for the gut lining.

11. Collagen + bone broth – daily sips to help rebuild and seal the gut wall.

Everyone’s gut is different, but these steps helped me feel like me again — with better energy, better skin, and way less bloating. If you’re on your own healing journey, I hope this gives you a place to start. 💛

As someone certified in natural health, one of the most common questions I get is: “What should I take to detox my body?”

First off—your body already knows how to detox. Every single day, your liver, kidneys, gut, skin, lymph, and lungs are working behind the scenes to filter out waste and keep you balanced.

But here’s the key:
👉 These organs can only do their job well when they’re given the right support.
And that’s where food, minerals, herbs, and lifestyle come in.

I found this simple but powerful chart that I LOVE using as a guide when clients ask me where to start. It breaks down what each organ needs to function optimally—and it’s full of everyday foods and natural remedies you can start using right away.

👀 Take a peek at the chart and you’ll see:
• Beets + dandelion root for your liver
• Garlic + spinach for your blood
• Parsley + watermelon for your kidneys
• And don’t forget chia seeds, seaweed, flax oil, and turmeric for other key systems!

Detox doesn’t have to be extreme. You don’t need a 10-day juice cleanse or a suitcase full of supplements.

✅ You just need to nourish the organs that detox you.

At The Salt Reserve, we believe in getting to the root—and giving the body what it needs to heal and restore naturally. Whether that’s through food, minerals, herbs, or TCM tools like cupping and ear seeding… we’re here to support your whole-body wellness.

Save this chart. Come back to it. And if you’re feeling overwhelmed, reach out—I’m always happy to help guide you with love and simplicity.
