Primary Eyecare North Yorkshire & Humber Ltd The GOS contractors have successfully delivered community optical services for many years supported by their LOCs.

Primary Eyecare (North Yorkshire and Humber) Ltd is a new provider company - formed by the Local Optical Committees (LOCs) within the North Yorkshire and Humber area. This includes: North Yorkshire LOC; East Riding LOC and North and North East Lincs LOC - to act as the lead for a network of long established General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) contractors. Our company enables all optical practices in

the area, including all those which have provided local enhanced services for many years, to have the opportunity to be involved in the new service. This includes optical practices from sole traders through to national multiple groups, providing they have the appropriate equipment and meet the accreditation requirements

Post graduate funding now available - Please read and follow the instructions carefully

Health Education England is pleased to share the link to the Eyecare on-line application form for Funding for eyecare practitioners working in North East and Yorkshire for the following 6 Eyecare courses:

Professional Certificate in Glaucoma
Professional Higher Certificate in Glaucoma
Diploma in Glaucoma
Independent Prescribing
Professional Certificate in Medical Retina
Professional Certificate in Low Vision

Deadlines are short – applications must be received by Noon on 24 October 2022.

The application allows the applicant to select their preferred choice of university from these being delivered by GOC or College of Optometrist approved universities. The applicant will need to take into account the start date of the course at each university as to be in receipt of this funding all courses must start before 17 March 2023. Attached is the list of universities and what we understand are the start dates, with the exception of Low Vision. However, the accuracy of this information can’t be guaranteed as we were unable to make direct contact with each university. Therefore, applicants need to treat this as guidance only and undertake their own checks.

Applicants can apply for funding for more than one course, though a separate submission has to be completed for each course.

The Harrogate MECS service will come to and end on 31st January 2022.

Please can all providers ensure all claims are uploaded onto Pharmoutcomes by 9th February 2022 to ensure the final payments can be processed.
