Wishing the kindest and most generous man I know the happiest Father’s Day! When I asked Tommy what I could do for him to make this day special, he asked for a Jin Shin Jyutsu session. I laughed but I wasn’t totally surprised. I always say that offering your spouse or partner a session is one of the most loving things you can do. There is something very powerful about simple human touch and our sessions have genuinely deepened and strengthened our bond.

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Umbilicus Flow brings warmth and harmony to all relationships. You can simply hold the palm of your loved one’s hand to bring vitality to your relationship.

Speaking of love, this picture was taken exactly one year ago today when our oldest son married the love of his life. Photo credit to my brother. He works miracles with a camera.

30 years and counting!! I love our anniversary. It always makes me smile to think back on that day. Everything was absolutely perfect(except that they forget the shrimp cocktail-the only thing Tommy asked for-sorry!!). I know I have said it before, but Jin Shin Jyutsu has played such a pivotal role in helping us maneuver through all of life’s highs and lows. Giving your spouse a session is one of the most loving things you can do. I often offer my clients simple holds/flows that they can do to their partner. It truly is a beautiful bonding experience that brings people so much closer together. I am eternally grateful for my life with Tommy and I pray that we have many more decades of good health and joy in our future. ❤️

This picture was taken on my father-in-law’s 90th birthday this past August. Sadly, he passed away over the holidays. It’s impossible to capture the love between these two in a photo. Much to the awe of those around him, Tommy dedicated the past decade plus of his life to the care of his father. He did so with such devotion, Tom’s doctors and nurses stood in amazement at everything Tommy did to provide for his dad. Tommy always went above and beyond to do anything he could to make his dad as comfortable as possible. However, as Tom’s health rapidly deteriorated over the past few months, the stress really began to take its toll. As an only child, everything fell to Tommy and it was not easy. That’s where Jin Shin Jyutsu came in. Everyday when Tom napped, I gave Tommy a session. I was so grateful that I knew how to ease Tommy’s stress and anxiety so that he could more easily deal with whatever faced him. Now that Tom is gone, Jin Shin Jyutsu is playing a pivotal role in helping us find peace in our grief. As relieved as we are that Tom is no longer suffering, his death has left a huge void in our lives. It was such a gift having him with us for all of these years and he will be dearly missed. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune just isn’t the same.:)

The only place we can find our salvation/help with the turmoil outside is to go inside and Jin Shin Jyutsu is a beautiful art for self-help…Underneath our collarbones is our Safety Energy Lock 22 which brings peace to everything. It brings it all together so that we can clear our mind. - Jed Schwartz

The above is taken from a segment of yesterday’s self-help meditation, “Finding Peace amid Panic and Stress. Jed had us hold our Safety Energy Lock 22’s, throughout his touching practice. The entire meditation can be found on the Jin Shin Jyutsu Spirit Mind Body YouTube channel. If you just want to do a quick self-help you can either hold your 22’s as I’m demonstrating or you can cross your hands if that is more comfortable.

Karen Luedtke, a fellow Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner from Scotland, sent me the loveliest message requesting to use my image for a leaflet she was creating for her clients. I particularly love the artistic touch she added to make my picture appear more like a painting. To learn more about Karen, please visit her website at www.spacioussteps.com

The following is an excerpt from Sarah W. Anderson's, LCSW, blog post, "The Mother(Healing from Flu). The entire blog can be found on Sarah's website, sarahwoodsjsj.wordpress.com. Sarah's words perfectly encapsulate my thoughts regarding the role I would love to see Jin Shin Jyutsu play in everyone's daily lives. I am very grateful that Sarah gave me permission to share her post on my page.

Gifted JSJ instructor Philomena Dooley once said in a 5-day seminar: “Jin Shin Jyutsu is the New Medicine.” Honestly, I was skeptical when she said that, because I do come from a Western medical family, which continues to inform my perspective on just about everything.

However, in the past few months of living here in Hawaii and feeling more and more passion for sharing JSJ with the world, I realize that Philomena was right, but we just have a very, very long way to go before the world is ready to see holistic healing as primary rather than secondary. We will get there. Maybe in a few hundred years. 🙂

But we will get there. We deserve to have methods of healing available to us at all times that are gentle, effective, non-invasive, and work in harmony with our existing health rather than battling it out with a made-up enemy.

We deserve love rather than fear in our healing systems. Let it be so, however long it takes.

Forgiveness can be a challenge. 32 years ago today my parents were killed in a car accident by a very troubled teen. Forgiveness was hard when we witnessed how much this teen did not care. Forgiveness was hard when he misspelled my parents’ names in some lame apology letter. Forgiveness was hard when he and his friends sat behind us in the courtroom mocking us, to the point where a bailiff had to move them. However, forgiveness became easier when we met his family and saw how they were more concerned that their car was totaled than that 2 innocent people had been tragically killed. That brief glimpse into that boy’s family filled me with intense gratitude for my parents. I realized how lucky I was to have had them if for only a short time. Lastly, forgiveness means forgiving my mom for giving Kristin my brand new red corduroy pants that I bought for this picture and making me wear my very old and very tight yellow ones.:)
In Jin Shin Jyutsu, Safety Energy Lock 13 is the flow for forgiveness. SEL 13 means to love thine enemies. Therefore, when our SEL 13 is in harmony, we are so full of love and compassion that forgiveness just flows.

Self-Help: SEL 13 is located on the front of the rib cage, a few inches below the clavicle, by the third rib. Simply place your hands on each one, take deep cleansing breaths, and hold for at least 3-5 minutes.
