This email received from a patient only a few minutes ago broke my heart. Please understand how powerful prevention can be. The labs we run will detect hidden risk for heart disease and diabetes so we can intervene and prevent these horrible stories from happening. I have been doing this for 20 years and I am 100 % convinced we can prevent the vast majority of heart attacks from happening but we need to be empowered with information beyond cholesterol and glucose. Please spread the word and seek out doctors who respect and understand the power of advanced biomarkers like NMR LDL Particle concentration and lipoprotein (a).
"Hi Dr. Dall,
As you can see from the attached email, unfortunately I was informed yesterday that my Internist passed away. I started going to Dr. G, shortly after my wife and I started seeing you, in order to establish a local physician. Dr. G was 42 years old and passed away on Dec 17th 2017 leaving behind a wife, a 2 year old daughter and a 6 day old son. Tragically, he passed away from a massive heart attack.
Like many physicians, I'm sure, his office was always chock full of people who were well beyond the preventive medicine stage and he probably had a lot of patients with multiple complex health issues. I'm sure dealing with these complexities day in and day out is unbelievably stressful. As I think I may have told you, I got the impression that Dr. G thought I was going overboard on heart disease and diabetes prevention. He pushed back at me when he saw all the testing you ordered for me and the medications diet and supplements you recommended. I wish he would have had the same in-depth information about his 'numbers' and genetic disposition as I do...
I'm glad there are physicians out there like you trying to prevent these heart breaking and tragic stories.
Regards,
Ron
