We are excited to welcome Gregg to the CapABLE Community Living family!

Gregg has officially joined our home, and we couldn’t be happier to have him here. From the moment he arrived, he has already brought a great energy into the house, and we are looking forward to getting to know him better each day.

At CCL, we believe every new beginning is something to celebrate. Our team is committed to making sure Gregg feels comfortable, supported, and truly at home as he settles in and becomes part of our community.

Our washing machine at CapABLE Community Living unexpectedly broke, and we are currently in need of a replacement.

As a small, family-run nonprofit, appliances like this are essential to keeping our home running smoothly and ensuring our residents have clean clothes and a comfortable environment every day.

If anyone has a working washing machine they would be willing to donate, or knows of one available at low cost, we would be incredibly grateful. We are happy to arrange pickup.

Sunday’s are for shopping!

Our residents are building independence every time they step into the store! Practicing budgeting, making healthy choices, comparing prices, communicating with staff, and strengthening decision-making skills. These everyday moments are powerful opportunities for growth, confidence, and community connection.

Shopping trips like this help reinforce life skills that support greater independence and self-esteem. We’re so proud of the hard work, teamwork, and progress our residents show each day. It’s not just about what’s in the cart… it’s about the skills and confidence they carry with them long after checkout.

This weekend we spent time working together on healthy meal prep!

From washing and chopping fresh ingredients to choosing balanced options, everyone played a role and built valuable life skills along the way.

Meal prep isn’t just about food…it’s about independence, confidence, teamwork, and making healthy choices that support overall well-being. We’re so proud of the meals we plan, prep and serve here at CCL! We are even more proud of the focus, effort, and positive energy everyone brought to the kitchen!

🎉 Weekend Fun with CapABLE Community Living! 🎉

This past weekend was filled with smiles, excitement, and festive fun for our residents!

We were thrilled to participate in two wonderful events hosted by Macomb Autism Connect — thank you for creating meaningful experiences for our community 💙

🍿 Saturday: We headed to the movies and enjoyed Zootopia 2! Lots of laughs, popcorn, and time together made for a great outing.

🎄 Sunday: We celebrated the season at a Christmas party where our residents enjoyed delicious food, made crafts, met Santa, and simply had an amazing time! The joy and laughter were contagious.

We are so grateful for opportunities like these that build connection, joy, and memories. Thank you, Macomb Autism Connect, for welcoming us and helping create moments our residents truly cherish. ❤️

Our residents kicked off the holiday season with our very own Roommatesgiving—and it was AMAZING! 🧡🍂

Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, southern corn casserole, green bean casserole, roasted carrots, and warm yeast rolls… and yes, plenty of leftovers for the week. 😋🦃

The holidays always feel extra special here, but delicious, nourishing meals like this happen all year long at CCL. We believe food should fill the body and the soul—and we make that part of daily life for every resident.
