A little afternoon yogurt bowl action while Jaxson naps!

I have really been loving the plant based coconut 🥥 blend yogurt. I AM NOT DAIRY FREE. Just sometimes feel a little better after eating a plant based yogurt. The texture is awesome and the flavors are even better! Today I topped it with fresh raspberries, blueberries, blueberry h**p granola ( I had to choose from 5 flavors!), and almond butter! Other toppings I use are h**p seed, flax, chia, chocolate chips, all different nut and seed butters, 🐝 pollen, and I will chop up either a or bar! Toppings are endless. I always just make sure to have a fat and a carb to keep me fueled longer and keep me from crashing.

How do you top your bowls?

A little lunch or snack inspo for you! I wasn’t feeling my mean prepped lunch yesterday so I whipped this up instead.

My easy tuna salad with a side of the best crackers! I also put some on some celery sticks!

1 can tuna in water no added salt, diced up some celery, and added a heaping spoonful of spicy mustard! I will also use Greek yogurt if I have it on hand. I have also used Greek yogurt dip! Not a real big mayo fan these days!

So easy, delicious, protein packed, and you most likely have the ingredients in your house!

The sun was poking out, the temperature was above 60, Jaxson woke up early from a nap (thanks landscapers), I just crushed a run and a HIIT workout with , so a smoothie it was!

Sometimes you just need something quick when life gets in the way! It was actually perfect because I ended up taking it on a walk with Jaxson ( gotta get my 10k+ steps in).

Dark Chocolate Cherry Smoothie:

- 8oz cashew milk
-2 handfuls spinach
- 2 scoops .life chocolate plant based protein
- 1 heaping tbsp almond butter (today I used )
-1/2cup + frozen dark cherries (I just finished the bag so a little more than I typically use)

Blend it all up in a high speed blender, pour and enjoy! I will be making this smoothie on repeat. Cherries help with muscle recovery so perfect post workout!

Don’t forget when making a smoothie to remember PGFF, protein, greens, fat, and fiber!

My little helper joined me yesterday in cleaning and re organizing the fridge! This time it was my monthly deep clean! I like to take everything out, wipe down the fridge and the bins, and then reorganize! We really try not to waste food or let things go bad, but if you don’t deep clean, sometimes you miss things hidden way in the back or on the door! This can also inspire you for a meal or snack ideas based on what you already have! I will get inspired by what sauces, dressings, and dips I have on hand. This has been especially helpful these days because I am doing a 2 week grocery haul, so I need all the room I can get until I start cooking everything up!⠀

A organized fridge is more visually appealing to the eye and will inspire you to cook and eat the amazing food you have! It will help keep your food waste down and allow for you to see the contents of your fridge so you can make a detailed grocery list! One rule I love to follow is; you should always be able to see some part of the back panel of your fridge. Meaning, you shouldn’t pile food so high and in multiple rows that you do not know what is what! ⠀

If I asked you right now to tell me everything in your fridge could you do it? If not, you might want to think about a deep clean! ⠀

I shared on my story this morning a tour of our fully 2 week stocked fridge! I will save it to a highlight! ⠀

Grab a little helper and get your fridge clean and organized!⠀

A little lunch from my couch to you! Who says you can’t eat pasta? Who says you can’t have the foods you crave? Who says you can’t have comfort food?

Well you can! It’s all about finding the right combination of substitutions, flavors, and textures. And sometimes it’s about just eating what you want.

Filling your plate or bowl with nutrient dense food should be the focus. Focusing on what you can’t have or what the consequence of the food will be, will not help you achieve the goals you are setting out for yourself.

Also a fun fact; your cravings can change when you change your habits!

As a nutritionist I work with my clients in understanding the value, quality, and importance of nutrient dense foods when creating a menu or meal plan!

If you love what you are eating you will never be in a diet again!

This everything but the elote seasoning is quickly becoming my new favorite spice! It’s the spice that is supposed to go on Mexican street corn but I have been loving it on my roasted veggies! It has an spiced up cheesy flavor. I simply just spray my cut up veggies with avocado oil and then just heavily sprinkle on the seasoning. No measuring necessary. Just give it a light coat! I’m thinking this will be amazing with some grilled shrimp and even on some popcorn! I would love to hear some of your ideas on what to cook with it!

I might have had to clean off the products outside my house one by one, but that’s ok. That’s just our new normal! I am just happy to be able to have the products/food that I love as well as be able to support the company’s I love and believe in! I have been ordering from for just over 3 years now and I’m not planning on stopping! The orders are taking a little longer than normal (totally ok with that) but they are working endlessly to fill them as fast as they can!

If your local stores are not stocked on your favorite things you can always order directly from the company or a marketplace like thrive! Have the foods/products that make you feel good or that you are just used to is important during these times. Having a sense of normalcy is key! This big box of goodies made us smile today! We have all the snacks, essentials, and baking goods to get us through a couple weeks! Now I need to find the space to put everything, guess I’ll be cleaning out some cabinets tomorrow!

Another day another under 15 min meal using less than 10 ingredients total! If you know me or are following along, you know my love for products, spicy foods, guac and chips, and tacos! The other night hubby and I had what we like to call . We were snacking on the dip chips with freshly made guac and salsa while dinner cooked.

I sautéed mushrooms and peppers in coconut oil until golden brown while cooking up ground turkey meat using sietes spicy taco seasoning (it’s our favorite). Hubby used the hard taco shells and I toasted up a tortilla. Topped it with shredded cheese, salsa, and hot sauce!

Food does not have to be complicated! Find the flavors and textures you enjoy and make it on repeat! Always make sure your plate is balanced with good quality protein, carbs, fats, and veggies! This balance will help you stay fuller longer, keep your blood sugar regulated, satisfy you, and help your body achieve any goal you set out!

*not sponsored or affiliated with siete, just honesty love love love them! I love sharing products and brands that I personally use all the time and that stand behind!

Another batch of my protein balls!
These are great to keep on hand either in the fridge or freezer! They are one of the best grab and go snacks. They are packed with nutrients, balanced, and delicious! Take them on walks, to your home office, or just have for around the house! Recipe a few posts back! Had to alter this one a little cause they just weren’t forming correctly! Just added a touch more honey and peanut butter! With only 6 ingredients these are one of the simplest snacks to make! I prefer to make them myself to control the amount of sugar that goes in! There are so many great recipes out there to fit all your texture and taste bud needs!!

Happy snacking!

Another dinner in under 15 minutes and only 8 total ingredients! Mixed it up a little last night and created this stir fry masterpiece. I honestly do not have a specific recipe for the sauce. I just dump things in the wok! Next time I make this I will try and measure! Here is the general concept. I cooked up 1 cup of jasmine rice following the directions on the bag! In my wok I heated up some avocado oil in my wok on med-high. I typically use sesame oil but was all out! I seasoned some chicken with ginger and umami seasoning. Added the chicken to the wok and let it start cooking. A few minutes in I added a few squirts of honey 🍯 , some dashes of coconut aminos, and some teriyaki sauce (sorry I have no idea how much. Not a crazy amount, just went once around the wok!). Then added in some broccoli and let cook for about 10 min.
As long as I have these ingredients handy I will be making this regularly!
You can choose whatever veggies you want either fresh or frozen! I went with broccoli 🥦 cause that’s what hubby will eat!

What have you been creating? .

Hello spring!

Things may be a little different these days but sunshine and vanilla banana blueberry smoothies make it just a little bit easier.

Had this smoothie earlier today and it was perfection! You most likely have everything you need in your freezer and pantry 😃

- 8oz cashew milk
- 2 scoops .life vanilla plant based protein
- 1/2 frozen banana🍌
- 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
- 1 heaping tablespoon almond butter

I will be recreating this bowl all week because it was delicious, it’s prepped, and is nutritionally balanced (missing some veggies).

I got asked the other night why I am still meal prepping. Wouldn’t I rather cook everyday to give me something to do? You have so much extra time, why not cook fresh?

Having food ready to go just makes life easier. No more opening and closing the fridge or pantry door a million times before deciding on what to make. No more mindless snacking because you don’t feel like cooking a real meal. It keeps your portions controlled. It helps keep your plate balanced so you stay fuller longer. It helps you continue to work towards the goals you set out for yourself. It allows you to be more aware of how much food you and your family are gong through in a week. If you have kids it’s a time saver. But most importantly for me, keeping up with the habits I created for myself and my family will help me stay somewhat sane in this new normal we are living in.

Just because we are stuck at home does not mean we stop our daily habits.

I am here to help support you, guide you, inspire you, teach you, and help you create a nutrition program that works for you and your family during these vey hard times. Please reach out for support.

Peanut butter chocolate protein balls for all your snacking needs. These are packed with protein, carbs, and fats to keep you energized, full, satisfied, and satiated! Did I mention super easy and you probably have all of the ingredients in your pantry! Having these on hand can help with mindless snacking! 2 or 3 of these are all you need! Remember snacking is healthy just make it nutrient dense! Ask yourself 2 questions; where does it fit on my healthy plate and what is it doing nutritionally for me?
Rough recipe:

2 cups oats (I used gluten free quick cooking)

1/4c ground flax

1/4c choc covered but any chia will do
3 scoops .life chocolate plant based protein
1/3c honey

2/3c peanut butter (I chose peanut butter so hubby would eat them. He is not a fan of almond butter). I also let a little of the oil from the jar drip in to help with consistency
Mix everything in bowl. Add more honey or pb for your preferred sweetness and texture. Should make about 14 balls. I put them in parchment paper and either freeze or refrigerate for a few hours to let them set!
Happy snacking! .

How many ways can you use ripe bananas?
I recreated .haven (recipe is on her page) blender muffins because I am out of almond flour and every recipe calls for it! If I can do this, anyone can. You literally toss all the ingredients (which you should have in hand) in the blender. Blend for a minute then pour into your muffin tins. I topped them with choc chunks. I don’t even think this can be called baking!
I challenge you to find a recipe that you have been dying to make and DO IT!
Happy Wednesday! .

This 4 ingredient 15 min meal might be my new favorite lunch!
I was able to use fresh veggies because my Whole Foods was fully stocked yesterday, but frozen would work just fine. I chose mushrooms, asparagus, and zucchini and sautéed them up in a pool of avocado 🥑 oil. I started the mushrooms first cause I like them extra sautéed. While cooking I made the pasta. I typically only cook the noodles for about 8 min! I tossed it all together in a big bowl. I will enjoy this as a cold pasta salad or I will add some marinara sauce

This will be enough for 4 meals!
Remember to always balance your meals with veggies, protein, fats, and carbs! This will keep your blood sugar regulated to help you feel fuller longer and satisfied.
Use this time at home to take control of your nutrition. Cook more! Try something new! Learn what fuels your body. Keeping yourself and your family healthy is key right now!
