My current go-to for a no-cook balanced & tasty meal in a pinch 💛

5 min “Everything” Salad

Protein & complex carbs: pre-cooked chickpeas & quinoa
Produce: carrots, cucumber, tomato, peppers, celery, avocado, apple, parsley
Dressing: olive oil, mustard, lemon juice, s&p

Prep a big batch over the weekend to have for weekday lunches, sides, in wraps or even as a dip with chips 🤗

Chocolate Peanut Butter Oats for breakfast 🍫🥄

How did I fit 33g protein, 11g fiber, 0 added sugar and a ton of heart-healthy fats and antioxidants into a decadent breakfast? You have to try it: organic Cacao + Greens protein powder, a scoop of , unsweetened almond milk, h**p & ground flaxseed + a heaping tbsp of crunchy PB. This combo would’ve been even more delish with banana 🍌

I recently spoke with LIVESTRONG.COM about my fave topic: Greek food 🇬🇷🤍

By now everyone knows how amazing olive oil is for your health, but have you heard of other Mediterranean superfoods like sofrito and dandelion greens? 🌿

Sofrito is a type of tomato sauce made with olive oil, garlic, onions and fresh herbs. You can use this sauce to braise veggies, beans and meats. It’s a nutritional powerhouse but also makes plant-based recipes even more delicious 🍅

Greek cuisine also is rich in dark leafy greens that have nothing to do with kale… dandelion, chicory, agretti, beetroot and amaranth greens are a few delicacies often served simply boiled with fresh evoo & 🍋

Soy-Marinated Tofu Stir-Fry 🤩

This meal was 🔥 and ready in under 20 minutes.

Tofu is such an underrated protein… it takes the flavor of whatever sauce you put on it & is so heart-healthy & filling!

Make it & thank me later 💚

4 cups marinated tofu pieces (I used fresh garlic, ginger, soy sauce & sesame oil)
1/2 broccoli head, chopped
4 baby zucchinis, julienned
1 carrot, in ribbons
1 cup basmati rice
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 cm fresh ginger root, minced
2 spring onions, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil

Make the basmati rice first and set aside while prepping the stir fry!

1. Add olive oil to a wok or deep pan and heat. Add ginger, garlic and spring onions and sautee for 30 seconds.
2. Add broccoli florets, zucchini and carrots. Sautee for 5 mins.
3. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar and sesame oil over veggies. Add marinated tofu cubes and sautee another 3 mins until browned.
4. Serve on rice with fresh spring onions

Are you team bagel or koulouri Thessalonikis? 🥯😏

For those of you who don’t know, a koulouri is a thin, round bread product coated in sesame seeds. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, I’m a big fan (and I’m from the bagel capitol of the world lol)

You can find them fresh on the streets of Greece or at your local Greek bakery, and they make the perfect breakfast or snack.

My fave breakfast these days: stuff a whole grain koulouri with hummus and avocado for a delicious & filling breakfast full of fiber and healthy fats. Sesame seeds are also a good source of iron, B vitamins and protein 💚

Moral of the story: olive oil is liquid gold! 🌿🏆

I recently spoke with about all things olive oil… aka my favorite topic of all time.

Olive oil truly is the holy grail for health and has been shown to have amazing health benefits unlike other oils:

🫒 Olive oil is made up of at least 75% monounsaturated fatty acids, which help lower LDL cholesterol

🫒 Olive oil is rich in polyphenols, aka antioxidants that research has suggested may help lower risks of cardiovascular disease, some cancers, depressive symptoms and dementia in people who consume higher amounts of olive oil

🫒 Research has suggested that the abundance of polyphenols in the Mediterranean diet from olive oil plays a key role in the promotion of longevity

My top tip for choosing the best olive oil 💚 Polyphenols are responsible for the bitter, peppery flavor of olive oil. Choose extra virgin olive oils that taste peppery and leave a light burning sensation in your mouth - that means it is high in antioxidants!

2021 was a tough year for most of us. But through all the changes, the unpredictability, the stress, you all took hold of your health and prioritized your wellness.

You gave up the fad diets, the juice cleanses, the scams, and you saw real, sustainable, FREEING change 🕊

Peanut butter apple pie oatmeal on decks this morning 🥵🍎

Warm, delicious, filling, nutritious & seasonal… & takes literally less than 10 mins to make. The best breakfast I’m digging these days 🤌🏼🍂

For the apple pie topping:

• Chop 1 apple and sautee for about 5 minutes on a nonstick pan with 1/2 tbsp honey (I used Thyme honey) & as much cinnamon as you desire.

For the oats:

• Cook 1/2 cup quick oats in 1 cup unsweetened almond milk with 1/4 tsp apple pie spice (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice) for about 2 minutes.

• Remove from heat & stir in protein of choice (I used unflavored)

• Add to bowl & top with apples and a generous amount of PB. I also added chia and h**p seeds for some additional nutrition.

Let’s talk protein powders! You’ve seen them everywhere and are wondering if you should you taking then and if so, which are the best ones for your goals?

First things first - eating more protein does not make you automatically grow muscle. That’s one myth I hear often 🤷🏻‍♀️

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PROTEIN?👇

Protein provides the building blocks of our hormones and neurotransmitters, is vital to maintaining, repairing and building muscle, and supports our hair, skin and gut health ❤️

Eating enough protein on a daily basis from real, whole foods is always our #1 goal 🥚🥜🍣🍗🍳, however there are some cases in which taking a protein powder is beneficial.

Taking a protein supplement can be a great option to fill in the blanks if you’re struggling to eat enough protein from food or if you want to boost the protein amount in a snack🥤
