Ladies, dismissing our experiences of learning, remembering and reconnecting with ourselves through cold water immersion simply doesn’t make sense. Water is restorative, renewing, and a powerful means of deepening our self-awareness and reconnecting with our feminine energy. There is much to unpack regarding Stacy’s comments, which appear to lack depth and context. In fact, I warmly invite Stacy to attend my women’s event in October—I’d love to explore this conversation together and for her to join our cold immersion trainings ♥️
My approach to cold immersion is always gradual and consistent throughout the seasons, allowing my body to naturally adapt as temperatures decrease. Even if your access is limited, consistently taking cold showers year round can provide similar adaptive benefits.I’m unsure where Stacy sourced her information, as she didn’t specify studies, experience or the type of cold immersion she’s referring to (cold plunge circulating tub, plastic travel inflatable bath, river, ocean, shower). It’s essential to understand there is a clear hierarchy in cold therapy practices that have varying effects on our psychology, physiology, energetically.
When examining scientific research on cold exposure, variables must be considered, including age, race, cultural background, mental health, diet, sun exposure, general health, geographic location, caffeine and alcohol consumption, physical exertion, stress coping mechanisms, urban vs. natural environments, barefoot habits, and menstrual cycle phases. Most of these considerations apply equally to men.
If you’ve had challenging experiences with ice baths but sense there is deeper value to uncover, I encourage you to seek out an experienced, dedicated facilitator or coach—someone who creates a safe, supportive environment and embodies the work.
