Did you know your toenails can grow a little faster during the summer?

Warmer weather can support better circulation, which may mean:

👡 sandals put feet more on show
🚶 more walking and activity means feet need a bit more attention

It is one of those small seasonal changes people do not always think about, but it is a great reason to keep an eye on your foot health.

🥶 Suffering with Chilblains? Here’s What You Need to Know 👣

With the cold weather still hanging around, I’m seeing more chilblains at the moment.

Chilblains are small, itchy, red or purple swellings that usually appear on toes (sometimes fingers) when cold skin warms up too quickly. They can feel sore, burn, or even blister.

Common causes:
• Cold, damp weather
• Poor circulation
• Tight footwear
• Warming feet too quickly (radiators, hot water bottles)

What helps:
✔️ Keep feet warm with breathable socks
✔️ Warm feet gradually – not directly on heat
✔️ Moisturise daily to keep skin supple
✔️ Avoid tight shoes that restrict circulation

If they become very painful, blistered, or keep coming back, it’s always worth getting them checked.
