This is a first in this series. 12" x 16" acrylic on canvas with cut out magazine paper wording and modeling paste painted flowers. This piece is not for sale, DM to be notified of gilcee print options in the near future.

Protein is made in our bodies. Any 'protein' that we eat, gets denatured / broken down, even with simple changes in temperature or pH, into amino acids. ALL plants have ALL essential amino acids, and our bodies are very efficient at assembling protein from the amino acids as needed. If one eats enough calories, they will get enough protein. We need to change the conversation on this topic and stop obsessing about 'protein'. A simple observation of the animal kingdom shows that 4,000+ herbivorous species on the planet somehow get enough 'protein' eating only plants, and the strongest mammals on the planet like oxen, rhinos, and silverback gorillas aren't protein deficient eating only plants.

MI Green Team’s Veg Events

MI Green Team, a leading green and healthy living event producer, was inspired by the success of events by Veg MI, PBNSG and The Quintessential Group (TQG), to produce veg events. The first was the East MI VegBash, a partnership with TQG in 2017. Then, we held V313 in March 2018 with much support from VegMI and PBNSG. and to much acclaim, including the event’s inclusion in Detroit’s listing of PETA’s Top 10 Vegan-Friendly Cities.
