Health & Fitness Coaches
It took me into my 40's to realize how insecure I felt most of the time. Growing up I felt alone and tried to pretend I didn't care what people thought.
Of course it was the opposite.
When I got into athletic therapy and coaching in my 20's I felt empowered for the first time. I loved the field and I was confident. Over confident at times. That's because I carried the insecurity with me.
Unresolved, it continued to plague me and effect the relationships I had in the field.
I felt insignificant again, judged and like I was competing with the entire health and fitness field.
When I opened my eyes to it I saw that I had some internal work to do. Since then I have worked to overcome my fear of failure, sense of judgement and insignificance.
Our field of work is full of media that can drive your state of mind in the wrong direction.
If you feel less than significant, underappreciated and like it's hard to keep up with all the new s**t the industry is throwing at you and your peers, remember this.
It is you that has made the difference in your clients lives and they love you for it. You don't need to know everything and you will make mistakes.
What make you worthy is your pursuit to get better and continue to help people improve their lives.
When you're feeling down, read a thank-you note from a client.
When you feel you don't know enough, target one aspect of your practice and find simple ways to improve.
When you feel alone, think of me. I was there (and still am sometimes). I'm your Ally and I'll stand with you.
You're in it for the long run and there are hurdreds and even thousands of people that will be thankful you stuck it out and became the champion of change that you are.
