Practicing self-compassion may be helpful right now for strength, coping, and resilience. Back in 2020, I chatted with Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff, Ph.D. about some exercises for directing compassion inwards.

Kristin is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research and a co-developer of the empirically supported training program "Mindful Self-Compassion."

In this episode of Checking In, she guided us on some self-soothing exercises and unpacked the research on why this approach is so powerful. I hope these exercises might make you feel supported wherever you are today.
