"So yesterday, for no reason i woke up with a very painful neck, with really limited range of mobility (ROM)... I decided to try some myofascial release techniques. Check out my before-and-after pics—my left side had full range of motion, but my right side was super restricted and painful. After a bit of work, I started to feel a lot more mobile. If you'd like to know more, just message me for a massage treatment!"

Case Study 2: Follow‑Up Cupping for Ongoing general tightness& Lower‑Leg Discomfort

Client: Vicki
Concern: Continued tightness around the lipoma above the ankle, persistent hamstring tension, and general body tightness through the back and hips.
Symptoms: Ongoing tightness through the hamstring, stiffness after activity, and a sense of the body “holding on” to tension, especially in the lower leg and back.

Treatment:
A second cupping session building on the first, with a focus on deeper release.
- Gliding cups around the lower leg to support circulation and ease surrounding tightness.
- Static cups across the back, shoulders, and hips to target deeper layers of tension.
- Focused cupping along the hamstring and glutes to reduce the pulling sensation and improve flexibility.
- Additional work through the lower back to support the whole posterior chain.

Outcome:
Vicki reported a deeper release through the hamstring and hips, with the lower leg feeling less restricted. Her body felt lighter and more balanced, and tension eased more quickly than after the first session.

Case Study 1: Cupping for Lipoma Discomfort, & General Body Tension

Client: Vicki
Concern: Discomfort around a lipoma above the ankle, ongoing hamstring tightness, and general body tension.
Symptoms: Localised tightness around the lower leg where the lipoma sits, a heavy or restricted feeling through the hamstring, and widespread muscular tension through the back and shoulders.

Treatment:
A gentle, whole‑body cupping session to ease tension and support circulation.
- Light gliding cups around the lower leg to reduce tightness, placing cups directly on the lipoma and surrounding areas.
- Static cups across the back and shoulders to release deeper muscular tension.
- Additional cupping along the hamstring and glutes to soften tightness and support the posterior chain.
- Work through the hips and lower back to improve overall mobility and reduce compensatory strain.

Outcome:
Vicki felt a noticeable softening of tension through her body, especially around the hamstring and lower leg. Movement felt easier, and the area around the lipoma felt less tight and irritated after the session.

Case Study: Cupping for Shoulder Pain & Limited Movement

Client: Keome
Concern: Ongoing shoulder pain with noticeably limited movement during daily tasks and lifting.
Symptoms: Localised discomfort around the shoulder joint, tightness through the surrounding muscles, and reduced range of motion when lifting or rotating the arm.

Treatment:
A focused cupping session designed to ease muscular tension and support freer movement through the shoulder.
- Gliding cups were used across the upper shoulder and scapular area to warm the tissues and encourage circulation.
- Static cups were placed along key points of tightness to help release deeper restrictions and reduce protective tension.
- Additional work was done around the upper back to support better mobility and reduce strain on the shoulder during movement.

Case Study: Cupping for Hamstring Tension

Client: Sienna
Concern: Persistent hamstring tension affecting comfort during movement and daily activity.
Symptoms: Tightness through the back of the thigh, a pulling sensation when bending forward, and general stiffness after activity or long periods of sitting.

Treatment:
A focused cupping session along the length of the hamstring to help release deep muscular tension.
- Gliding cups were used first to warm the tissues and encourage circulation.
- Static cups were then placed along key points of tightness to support fascial release and reduce that “pulling” sensation.
- Additional work was done around the glutes and lower back to support the whole posterior chain and improve overall mobility.

Outcome:
Sienna noticed her hamstring felt looser and less restricted after the session, with a softer, more comfortable stretch. Movement felt easier, and the tight pulling sensation had eased significantly.

Case Study: Cupping for Subacromial Bursitis (Shoulder Pain)

Client: Sacha
Concern: Subacromial bursitis causing persistent shoulder pain and discomfort during daily movement.
Symptoms: Localised pain around and under the shoulder blade, discomfort when lifting the arm, and tightness through the surrounding muscles due to inflammation and protective tension.

Treatment:
A gentle cupping session focused on the upper shoulder, scapular area, and surrounding musculature.
- Light gliding cups were used to encourage circulation and ease muscular tightness.
- Static cups were placed carefully to support lymphatic drainage and reduce pressure around the irritated tissues.
- Additional cupping was applied across the pectoralis major (chest) to help release tension linked to shallow breathing and postural strain, supporting better openness through the chest and shoulder.

Outcome:
Sasha reported instant relief in the tightest area later that evening. By the next morning, her range of movement had improved slightly, and the shoulder felt more comfortable and less restricted.

⭐ Client Testimonial
> “I loved it — found it so interesting, and Lisa explained everything so well. It wasn’t uncomfortable at all, and I actually enjoyed the release!”

💬 My Reflection
Shoulder issues like subacromial bursitis often create a lot of protective tension around the shoulder blade and chest. Gentle cupping can help reduce that tightness, support circulation, and give the joint space to settle so movement feels easier again.

Case Study: Second Cupping Session – New Running‑Related Tension

Client: Callum,
Appointment: Second session
Concern: New tension after increasing his running distance, with niggles developing through the IT band and calves.
Symptoms: Tightness down the outside of the thigh, calf stiffness after runs, and a feeling of the legs fatiguing quickly.
Treatment: A targeted lower‑body cupping session focusing on the IT band, quads, and calves. Gliding cups were used to warm and loosen the tissues, followed by static cups placed along key points of tension to support release, circulation, and recovery.
Outcome: Reduced tightness through the IT band, softer calves, and improved mobility. Callum reported feeling lighter through the legs and more balanced when walking afterwards.

⭐ Client Testimonial
> “Second session in and I can really feel the difference now I’m running more. The cupping still feels a bit weird, but in a good way — like everything’s getting lifted and loosened. My calves and IT band felt way less tight afterwards, and walking out just felt easier.”

💬 My Reflection
As Callum builds up his running, his body is adapting fast — and sometimes new niggles appear along the way. Cupping is a great way to support recovery, ease tension, and keep him moving comfortably as his training progresses.

Case Study: Cupping for Upper‑Back Tension

Client: Callum
Appointment: First session
Concern: General tension across the upper back from daily strain and posture habits.
Symptoms: Tightness between the shoulder blades, stiffness through the upper back, and a sense of heaviness after long days.
Treatment: A gentle introductory cupping session using a mix of gliding cups to warm the tissues and static cups placed along key tension points to release fascia and encourage circulation.
Outcome: Noticeable softening of the upper‑back muscles, improved ease of movement, and a lighter, more relaxed feeling after the session.

⭐ Client Testimonial
> “Cupping was a strange feeling at first — that lifting sensation is definitely different, but not painful at all. I didn’t realise how tight my back actually was until afterwards, when everything felt so much more relaxed. I did have some red marks on my skin afterwards, but that was expected and explained to me before we started.”

💬 My Reflection
First sessions are always special — it’s amazing to see how quickly the body responds when tension finally has space to let go. Cupping is a gentle but powerful way to support mobility, comfort, and overall wellbeing.
