Out and about today and saw this book! There are a wealth of literature resources out there on the topic of grief.. when you're ready to read, it can be comforting finding words for the experience that is grief.

This little book packs a punch for grieving adults. Author Martha Hickman starts off with a quote, followed by a commentary and then a meditation--one for EACH day of the year. In all of my groups where we've read for the date when are meeting, there's ALWAYS been something of direct relevance for the discussion. Incredible!!

A must read.

What's my story? Here's part of it. It's difficult to talk about a topic such as su***de, but it's really so important to. In my age group 24-34 in New York, su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death. Overall, it's the 11th leading cause of death in the US.

My favorite organization to support is the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention. They do so much to spread awareness, education, and be of support to those who have had someone close to them die by su***de.

Losing someone to a death by su***de can be very confusing, and all emotions that come with grief may be heightened.

Grief is such a messy thing, it's my hope though that Shelly and myself can provide education and insight around what is actually happening in our body and brain when we go through loss and what practices can help us find solace.

Our Healing Through Grief Workshop is Saturday July 20th from 1-4pm and we hope you join us if you are so called to ✨♥️

💖 Remembrance and Group Gathering 💖

Join us for Healing Hearts first event this year, our Healing Through Grief Workshop. This will be on Saturday July 20th, from 1-4pm. We have an interactive activity planned to keep your hands busy while you have an opportunity to share your story and receive grief education.

We also have a few activities planned such as a mindfulness practice and education around emotions and the body.

This workshop is for women & men who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died at least 6 months before May 1st, 2024.

We ask that if you are interested in joining us for this workshop you email catskillvalleychiropractic@gmail.com as soon as possible to reserve your spot and complete our straightforward intake process for this group.

Hi everyone, I am Dr. Liz Boomhower and I am excited to be collaborating again with my friend and mentor Shelly Bathe Lenn. We met in the grief education space and we are looking forward to combining our knowledge, education and skills to create this space, Healing Hearts.

Follow along and join us as we introduce ourselves more, share our stories, and provide you with grief education content, emotion awareness and attunement skills and more!

Grief is a part of our human experience where support and education is often sparse. Healing Hearts' purpose is to create safe spaces to receive education on grieving while building community and remembering those who have died.

I hope this collaboration will help to create a space within the community where those in need can receive professional group facilitation and grief education.
