Wow I'm in tears today for the joy this family feels after I found this proof that their Dad was in an orphanage. It means for them that they can get back their dual citizenship, opening doors for education (within the European Union) for their family members, and we all know, that can be life-changing.
HAPPY DAY.

My response to a request that I do research for the Canadian government in litigation with First Nations ----

Truthfully, I don't want to work on any project for the government in litigation against Indigenous Peoples. I firmly believe that true reconciliation will never happen so long as government is fighting Indigenous people in courts of law in this country. If there were collaborative effort to sort through archived documents, to clarify treaties or other agreements, or to formally transcribe archived documents for posterity, I'm interested in these pursuits. But to litigate against Indigenous people to me is always a hindrance and I'm not up for that, ever. Sorry. My very soul would mourn.

So long as our government keeps hiring people to hinder instead of help, there will never be reconciliation, there will only be more harm done. Everyone needs to learn that, starting right now. If we all demand it, change would actually become.

The inequality that exists makes it impossible for Indigenous people to assert their rights. Before they even start they need deeper pockets than they have, the government knows it, and they will continue this endless cycle of control. I'm fed up with it. I mourn the court battles where Indigenous groups lose AND have to cough up legal fees for the crown. It gets ridiculous.

My opinions, so I'll decline, but thanks anyway.

Just helped a family find their Native ancestry, turns out to be the Commanda family (Algonquin FN) and it was such a puzzle! OMG the name variations that made it impossible for these folks to find it on their own. A day to be proud.

SHANIA TWAIN DESCENDS FROM MARGUERITE PIGAR8ICH AND MARIE MITE8EMIG8EK8E (NATIVE) !!

Shania Twain, referring to her biological father Clarence Edwards, once said in an interview --

"My mother would tell us about his family, where they lived, what they did for a living and little bits and pieces. She said they were part Indian, so I always believed we had Indian blood in us. And so now I'm baffled."

Clarence Edwards' family later denied this, once Shania became famous. And so Shania's claim of being part Native (besides growing up on the Temagami Reserve and having Jerry Twain as her adopted father) was put under a microscope and she was called out because of it.

I can just imagine the pain this caused Shania, even though she is very resilient, it still must have hurt her or made her feel vulnerable and victimized. This is the story I hear from others who don't know their truths.

Look at Shania's photo as a young girl. Look at the shape of her eyes, the color and texture of her skin. She is not strictly European. She is part Native American. Her eyes are ever-so-slightly tilted. Do you see it? Her natural eyebrows were sparse, and going nearly straight across. Her eye socket is not highly arched like Europeans. Her face is not flat like Europeans. Her cheekbones stick out, and her face is wide. Do you see it? I do.

This is why I did the research. I now have her tree. She descends from Native women Marguerite Pigaroucihe and Marie Miteouemigouekoue.

Sometimes I request people send me photos of people in their family that might appear Native. Because I can sometimes pick out features that will lead me in the proper direction.

Sometimes people call to say their grandmother looks Native and they send me a photo of someone that appears white white white! And I want to send them a photo of MY Meme (a visibly CREE looking woman). Other times people send me photos of their family and it helps me to locate which line to follow.

I have not seen a photo of Clarence Edwards or his family, but this photo of Shania helped me to understand, early, that her claim probably had merit, and it does. I remember in the 90s hearing her claim and I've never doubted it was true. Now I have the proof documents.

Too many people with an Indigenous identity are being put under a microscope, being called "fake" or "pretendians".

Because I've spent a lifetime doing research and collecting many documents that explain the truth about Metis identity, the folks that are pointing fingers just can't substantiate those accusations.

Contact me today at www.nativefamilytrees.com if you also are being called out. I can't promise I'll find all of the documents you need to prove your Native ancestry, but I'm your best chance at finding them, and in the least I can show you how to protect yourself against these harmful accusations.

Learn the truth about Metis history, and why these "self appointed identity police" are wrong. It's a political machine at work, and I can prove that with evidence documents that will shock you.

Three separate families lately -- each one a different branch of the fur trade family of Goodwin / Hudson / Mistigoose . When it rains it pours!

So far was able to find records to prove one of these branches via the back door and consanguinity. Woo hoo!!!

I'm weaselling out these truths.
