Nerve damage affecting the motor, sensory, and autonomic nervous system leads to foot arch loss and toe migration, disrupting the balance of foot muscles and causing calluses and ulcers due to pressure points. Reduced pain perception increases the risk of infection, making regular care and examination crucial for the diabetic foot. The skin becomes dry, cracked, and susceptible to infection due to decreased sweating and lubrication.

Athlete's foot, the most common fungal skin infection, is caused by fungi that spread through direct or indirect contact with infected skin. These fungi flourish in damp conditions, such as those found in closed shoes, making it a challenge for those with hyperhidrosis to avoid.

How important are you 🦶 🦶, really? From your first wobbly steps as a toddler to your confident stride as an adult, they've been with you all the way. But are you taking care of them the way they deserve? Here are three simple tips to keep your feet happy and healthy: stretching and massaging them regularly, using toe spacers, and opting for shoes that allow natural movement.

Sweaty feet, also known as foot hyperhidrosis, is a common problem in which feet sweat excessively. This can be uncomfortable and lead to further problems such as foot odor and skin irritation. Here is a simple yet professional explanation:

Caues of sweaty feet

1. 🦶 Overactive sweat glands**: Sweaty feet occur when the sweat glands in the feet produce excessive sweat.
2. 🦶 Stress and Anxiety**: Emotional conditions such as stress and anxiety can increase sweating production in the feet.
3. 🦶 Hormonal Changes**: Hormone fluctuations, such as those that occur in puberty or menopause, can also result in increased sweating.
4. 🦶 Genetics**: There is also a genetic attribute for excessive perspiration.
5. 🦶 Tight shoes and synthetic socks**: Shoes and socks made of synthetic materials that are not breathable can increase sweating.

Measures against sweaty feet

1. **Suitable shoes and socks**: Wear shoes made of breathable materials such as leather and cotton socks, which absorb moisture better than synthetic materials.
2. **Foot Hygiene**: Wash your feet daily with water and mild soap. Make sure to dry your feet thoroughly, especially in between your toes.
3. **Foot Powder and Antiperspirants**: Use foot powder or special antiperspirant for feet to reduce perspiration.
4. **Walking Barefoot**: Leave your feet out in the fresh air as often as possible to allow the skin to breathe.
5. **Shoe Inserts**: Special inserts made of cedar wood or activated charcoal can help absorb moisture and reduce odors.
6. **Medical Treatments** In severe cases.

What causes a corn on your foot? 🦶

That's a great question.

The main cause is pressure.

Pressure from a combination of footwear, the shape of your foot and the way you walk.

Clawed toes make the tops of your toes rub on the inside of your shoe.

A pointy shoe puts inward pressure on the sides of the foot.

A flatter foot can lead to extra load and pressure on certain joints of the foot leading to a thickening of the skin and a corn can form.

We'll save treatment for another day, but the simple mantra is this - change the pressure and the symptoms will improve.

I recently completed the basic and advanced foot care course under Angelika Fizzell, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Angie demonstrated a remarkable ability to accommodate my needs, ensuring that i received personalized attention and support throughout the course. Her prompt and thorough responses to inquiries further enhanced the learning experience, demonstrating a high level of dedication and expertise.
The course itself was well structured, offering a comprehensive overview of foot care principles and practices. The material was presented in a clear and organized manner, making it accessible to students.
I particularly appreciated the practical aspects of the course, which allowed me to apply the theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Moreover, the online course greatly facilitated the learning process. The platform was user-friendly and intuitive, providing easy access to course materials and resources. This, combined with Angie’s engaging teaching style, made for a great learning experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Angie’s foot care course to anyone looking to expand their knowledge and skills in this field. Thank you, Angie for your exceptional instruction and dedication to your students' success.
