We’re so proud of Transitions student Jordan Sprague!

Jordan has excelled as a student leader at Transitions in our Mayfield location and now his leadership is helping young adults throughout the state.

As the SUNY Student Senate President, Jordan is joining fellow student leaders to add his voice on topics that include advocacy, leadership and strengthening the student experience.

Jordan continues to show what’s possible when young adults are empowered to lead—and we’re thrilled to celebrate his accomplishments!

Our Community Supports team recently hosted its annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the people we support and their families. This year was the biggest yet, with the team serving more than 170 meals, and delivering to those who couldn’t make it in person!

A heartfelt thank you to Kingsboro Catering for preparing the delicious meal, and to all our dedicated staff, volunteers, and team members who helped set up, serve, and create beautiful centerpieces.

It was a wonderful night filled with music, laughter, and shared stories. We are grateful for everyone who helped make this celebration memorable!

📣 Making sure our voices are heard!

The Arc Lexington came out strong to the NYDA (New York Disability Advocates) rally today in Albany. More than 30 advocates, staff and people we support joined their voices to advocates from around the state. The chants “Invest in Me, Invest in Us!” echoed down the hallways as we urged Governor Kathy Hochul and the NYS Legislature to fund the CareForce Affordability Agenda. This agenda which includes a 2.7 percent inflationary increase, infrastructure investment and funding additional supports is pivotal in providing essential resources to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

🌟Employees Making a Difference🌟

Maria Roe is someone who makes Schoharie Day Hab a brighter, kinder, and more creative place every single day.

From the moment Maria started 20 years ago, she has led with compassion, creativity, and joy. She’s built meaningful relationships with the people she supports and her colleagues, always ready to help and always bringing a smile.

Maria’s creativity shines especially in the horticulture room, one of the most loved spaces in the building, where the people she supports create beautiful floral arrangements that inspire pride and joy.

She has played a key role in growing that interest into a business, Country Blooms Floral. where the people we support are given the opportunity to share their beautiful, professional floral creations.

Through Maria's steadfast guidance, that business has flourished and the people we support have created numerous arrangements for other organizations and events in the community.

Maria, thank you for 20 years of dedication, compassion, and laughter. You’ve made a lasting difference in so many lives. Schoharie Day Hab wouldn’t be the same without you! 💐

✨ A Celebration of Legacy, Leadership, and Love for What We Do ✨

On Tuesday, we marked the culmination of our 2025 Service Recognition Events, honoring the 300 extraordinary Lexington employees who have dedicated 1 to 45 years to empowering lives.

Each year of service represents countless acts of compassion, creativity, and commitment — together shaping the Lexington we know and love today. To every honoree: thank you for the joy you bring, the lives you touch, and the strength you lend to our mission every single day.

We were also proud to welcome home our alumni — those retired from Lexington — whose leadership and example continue to inspire us. You remind us that once you’re part of the Lexington family, you always are.

And we celebrated a moment that truly stopped us in our tracks — the 45-year milestone of Penny Rivenburg.

Forty-five years ago, a young Apartment Aide named Penny joined Lexington with a simple purpose: to help people live their best lives. Over the decades, she has done far more than that — she has helped define who we are.

Penny’s leadership has touched nearly every corner of our organization — building programs, shaping teams, and inspiring generations of leaders. She played a pivotal role in expanding Lexington into Albany County, in nurturing the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, and in helping to build Transitions, now a nationally recognized model for supporting young adults with autism and learning differences.

Her story is not just one of service — it’s one of vision, grace, and heart. Penny has led not through titles or attention, but through belief — belief that people can grow, that programs can evolve, and that Lexington can always do more and be better.

As we close this season of celebration, we do so with deep gratitude — for every staff member who makes Lexington exceptional, for every retiree whose legacy we carry forward, and for leaders like Penny, who remind us that great programs are built by great people.

Thank you to all who make Lexington a place where compassion, innovation, and excellence truly thrive.

🌟Celebrating our Dedicated Employees in Schoharie 🌟

Today we had the joy of honoring an amazing group of employees at our Schoharie location who have reached incredible service milestones! While our celebration was smaller, it was every bit as meaningful.

Tears were mixed with laughter as we took the opportunity to focus on each person and share the impact they had made on the agency, their coworkers and the people they support. Their dedication and compassion continue to transform lives and inspire those around them.

We are deeply grateful for all who have made Lexington not just a place to work — but a place to belong.

Thank you and congratulations to our honorees!
