The Southern Philippines Medical Center – Department of Dermatology and the Psoriasis Foundation of the Philippines Inc. proudly congratulates Dr. Victoria P. Guillano for being recognized as one of the esteemed recipients of the Humanitarian Dermatology Award by the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS)!

As Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Southeastern Philippines and Chair of Dermatology at Davao Regional Center, Dr. Guillano has exemplified leadership, integrity, and service in advancing dermatologic care for underserved Mindanao communities. Her unwavering dedication to improving skin health through clinical service, public health initiatives, and education has made a profound impact on countless lives.

Through her work with the Psoriasis Foundation of the Philippines, Psor-HI, and the Davao Psoriasis Registry, Dr. Guillano has championed patient advocacy, accessible care, and continuing education for healthcare professionals. Her efforts have contributed significantly to raising awareness and fostering compassionate care for individuals living with psoriasis and other dermatologic conditions.

New knowledge, new hope during this love month! 💕

Psoriasis Talk 2025 brought together experts, patients, and families for a day of learning, sharing, and breaking the stigma! 🙌

The Psoriasis Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (PFPI), in collaboration with the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Dermatology Department and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP), successfully hosted an informative event entitled "Psoriasis Talk 2025." Themed "Bagong Kaalaman, Bagong Pag-asa: Updates sa mga Opsyon sa Paggamot ng Psoriasis," the event was held at Capernaum Hall, SPMC, last February 11, 2025.

Big thanks to everyone who joined us in raising awareness and exploring new treatment options.

In the spirit of February’s Heart Month and carrying the warmth of Christmas in our Hearts, we joined our psoriasis patients in a fun and meaningful TikTok dance!

With PFPI President Dr. Victoria Guillano, SPMC doctors Dr. Lagaret & Dr. Diaz, dermatology residents, and our USEP family, we danced to raise awareness, break stigma, and show love for the psoriasis community.

The Psoriasis Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (PFPI), in collaboration with Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) – Department of Dermatology, Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) – Department of Internal Medicine, and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) – School of Medicine, celebrated World Psoriasis Day 2024, themed “Psoriatic Disease and the Family,” on October 23, 2024, at the University Gymnasium and Cultural Center (UGCC), USeP Obrero Campus, Davao City.

The event was led by Dr. Victoria P. Guillano FPDS, one of the appointed councilors in the Philippines to the International Psoriasis Council. This was in collaboration with USEP faculty headed by President Bonifacio Gabales, PhD and SPMC Dermatology consultants, residents and staff.

Highlights of the event included a lay forum on coping strategies led by Dr. Sean Espanola, a special message from USeP President Dr. Bonifacio Gabales, and moving stories shared by patients and their families. Attendees also participated in games and free clinics, which provided care for psoriasis and other skin diseases.

A second leg of the activity will also be held at USeP Tagum Unit, Tagum-Mabini Campus, on October 28, 2024.

Registration is FREE. Friends and relatives of patients with skin problems, especially psoriasis, can join this event.

The SPMC Department of Dermatology congratulates Dr. Victoria Patiño-Guillano for being appointed as councilor to the International Psoriasis Council (IPC).

Dr. Patiño-Guillano has received acknowledgment from IPC for her significant impact in the field of psoriasis. As one of just two councilors in the Philippines and a newly appointed member of this prestigious global network, she remains at the forefront of progress in psoriasis research, treatment, and patient advocacy. Her dedication and work are truly inspiring. We eagerly anticipate her continued success and future innovations!

We are delighted to share the success of our recent Psoriasis Club Activity!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the event hosted by the University of Southeastern Philippines School of Medicine and the Department of Dermatology at Southern Philippines Medical Center, in collaboration with the Psoriasis Foundation of the Philippines Inc (PFPI) and Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Our focus was on the crucial role of hair and nail care in effectively managing psoriasis.

Under the theme "Top Tips - Hair and Nail Care for Psoriasis," we explored the importance of proper care routines for those living with psoriasis. The session, held on August 6, 2024, at the Activity Room, 1st Floor, Capernaum Building, SPMC, featured enlightening discussions and practical demonstrations, showcasing our dedication to empowering individuals with psoriasis.
