Perimenopause
Aka - zone of chaos
This isn’t something you survive.
It’s something you learn to adjust with and thrive!

Each phase is your body asking for a different kind of support.

When you meet it there, symptoms soften... and resilience comes back.

(This obviously varies per person)

Ages 35-41
Hormones start shifting quietly. Recovery isn’t as automatic anymore. Anxiety or bloating may appear.
This is your metabolic foundation and nervous system protection phase.
Thrive:
- Stop under-eating and over-training
- Build muscle (2-4x/week strength training)
- Prioritize protein, minerals, and sleep
- Support liver + gut so estrogen clears efficiently
- Eat a balanced bedtime snack if you wake at 2-3am

Ages 41-47
Estrogen becomes more erratic, bleeding may be erratic as well. Weight shifts. PMS intensifies. This is a hormone buffering phase and stress tolerance phase.

Truly speechless with excitement as we welcome our newest provider to the office. After almost 20 years of devoted service as a CRNP, Jenny McCoy, joins us with a remarkable depth of experience that only comes from a lifelong passion for caring for others.

Jenny specializes in bio-identical hormone therapy for perimenopause, menopause, and andropause, bringing both expertise and genuine compassion to every patient she meets. Her ability to restore balance, confidence, and quality of life is truly extraordinary—and we feel deeply grateful to have her join our team.
It is rare to find someone whose warmth, knowledge, and heart align so perfectly with our mission. Jenny’s presence is already a gift to our office, and will soon be a gift to every one of our patients!

Women are terrified of hormone therapy yet many spent 20+ years on birth control without question.

That fear didn’t come from science.
It came from bad headlines and lazy medicine.

Fact check...

1. Oral contraceptives use synthetic estrogens + progestins
at doses far higher than modern menopausal HRT

2. Oral birth control increases venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk 3-6x depending on formulation (Lidegaard et al., BMJ 2012)

3. Transdermal estradiol does NOT increase clot risk compared to oral estrogen
(ESTHER Study - Canonico et al., Circulation 2007)

4. The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI, 2002) used oral conjugated equine estrogen + synthetic progestin not bioidentical hormones yet it’s still used to scare women today

5. Estrogen loss is linked to bone loss, cardiovascular risk, insulin resistance, and cognitive decline
(Manson et al., NEJM 2017; Mosconi et al., Neurology 2017)

Providers hand out birth control with:
X no baseline labs
X no hormone education
X no long-term monitoring

But when women finally need hormones to protect their brain, bones, heart, and metabolism?

They’re told to “just age naturally.”
“Drink a glass of wine”
“This is a normal part of life”

That’s not evidence-based medicine.
That’s gaslighting medicine.
