Every journey begins with a simple thought, no matter what it is.

It could be the tall, beautiful buildings that glisten in the sunlight or a business that was born over a glass of wine. Each began with a simple thought.

Every individual who declared, “I want to have a healthy body!” began a journey, starting with that simple thought.

What's born with a simple thought requires vision, and cultivating a healthy body not only requires a vision, it requires a strategy.

It is both normal and necessary to experiment a little bit to find what actually works best when the goal is a healthy body. You already know that the journey will zig and zag, but you also know that for any goal that it's important to keep going even when the going feels difficult! You simply feel your way through new revelations!

Since the journey is continuous, you will make adjustments as needed and flexibly move forward as you keep that excitement and anticipation alive. So often it’s those “tiny” details that make the difference in manifesting a goal, such as working with someone who can help you create a strategy to reach those goals.

Nourishment from REAL food is love!

Too often we are worried about what other people think about us, about our lives, about our points of view...I could go on.

You just have to do you. There are other things to focus on and get done - and worrying about what others think shouldn't be one of them.

Focus on your own journey to contentment and let the rest go. It's your happiness that matters in the end and no one is creating that for you...but you.

𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑏𝑜𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑠, 𝑤𝑒 𝑚𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 “𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒-ℎ𝑎𝑡𝑒” 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑖𝑡.

We “love” it on the days that the dress we want to wear fits perfectly and looks fantastic. And we “hate” it on the days that we can’t pull our favorite jeans up over our thighs!

But what if we could learn to love our bodies no matter what? After all, it is a living, breathing thing!

It isn’t an easy task to think about loving where we are right now when all we want to do is reach a healthy weight.

We might think, “I don’t love my body now, but I sure will when I lose about 50lbs!”

It is certainly possible to reach a healthy weight and not enjoy the process. You can NOT love your body and still lose weight, but there isn’t much joy in that.

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑤?

My message today is love where you are right now. Your body is a reflection of everything you think about yourself. It is a reflection of the care you give to your body.

The truth is that your body deserves the same attention and love you would give someone else.

Take some small steps towards feeling love and reverence for your body – 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑣𝑒.

Fall in love with yourself where you are right now and cultivate that love daily. Your body will feel the love bestowed upon it and will respond in kind.

We can decide at the beginning of the day how we want that day to go. It's called setting the intention.

If we set the intention to find things along our path that day that will surprise and delight us, we will find things that surprise and delight us. If we don't set an intention, we can be tossed about throughout the day and literally anything is possible!

Try setting an intention for your day and see what happens. You never know what may surprise and delight you throughout the day!

Everything you observe began with a simple thought no matter what it is.
The tall, beautiful buildings that glisten in the sunlight – they began with a thought.
Every business began with a thought.
The desire to build one’s own home also began with a thought.

Every individual who declared, “I want to have a healthy body!” first had a thought about the subject.

When I was an adolescent, my parents decided to build their first home. I remember my mom leafing through hundreds of books with floor plans and stunning exterior designs as she visualized what she wanted. There was so much to decide and plan, such as what the exterior would look, how many square feet the home would have, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, etc. In other words, you can’t just wing this process, unless time and money are meaningless!

There were other details that were important to my mom, such as not wanting a garage on the front of the home. After searching for the perfect plan, she found one she could work with, but it had a garage on the front. So, how did she solve this? She created a massive “Great Room” with super high ceilings and floor to ceiling built-ins! (The end result was amazing!)

During the planning phase, I remember the going back-and-forth with the architect. Add the bay window here. Add a massive picture window there. You know the drill. Once the foundation was laid, one could finally feel the progress! And then there were permits. And electricians. And plumbers. And a giant Doberman pinscher to prevent thieves from returning to steal more lumber! It was months of conceiving this beautiful concept that would unfold and manifest as a wonderful home where friends and family would gather to laugh over coffee and yummy chocolate sheet cake.

There is no difference when creating a strategy to reach a healthy weight. If you think of the architect as yourself and your mentor, you will have to experiment a little bit to find what actually works best for you. This is especially true if reaching a healthy weight is the goal. And once that foundation is laid, you will feel that some progress is being made, though it never will be in a straight line. But you can’t just stop there because some things feel difficult as you feel your way through new ideas!

If you have a plan, just like plans drawn up by an architect, you know that there is ultimately a goal you want to manifest. So, you stay the course and stick to the plan! You make adjustments as needed and flexibly move forward as you keep that excitement and anticipation alive.

Most of the time it’s those “tiny” details that make the difference in manifesting a goal, such as working with someone who can help you create a strategy to reach those goals.

Those details determine the success of a project. They can ultimately be the difference between winging it and manifesting the goal of a healthy body.

Movement is the juice in life! Your body loves it. It thrives in an environment that is caring and nurturing - and regular movement nurtures the body! But don't forget to stretch. It reduces soreness after any type of movement or workout, whether it's walking, hopping on the elliptical or lifting weights.

Stretching can improve your flexibility as you hold the stretch position for at least 10 seconds (but not to the point of pain). You can also prevent injuries with stretching.

I see stretching as kind of the yin and the yang. Stretching is my yin after a kickboxing routine or a round of lifting weights, helping me re-center my energy and release any remaining tension.

There are so many benefits to stretching, so don't forget to add it to either your morning or your evening routine. Your body will amaze you! ♥

𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 when I was awarded my doctorate degree. Little did I know...my weight was a reflection of my own 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 about food and the 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 I had with my body. It was the literal result of not understanding the important role of self-love, physiology and thought patterns.

In the early 90s, I apparently 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘺, and I (mostly) stopped eating it. I cooked but gave the food to the neighbor. I baked goodies and gave those away, too. I exercised incessantly, ignoring hunger cues. Family members exclaimed, “Wow, you look fantastic! What are you doing?” I answered flatly, “Not eating.” Their answer was always the same: “Well, you still look fabulous!” (In hindsight, perhaps they just didn't know what else to say!)

When we get repeated messages that what we are doing results in “looking fabulous”, we might continue on that path and decide that we cannot accept anything else. If we are 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵, then we are 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴. If we are 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, then 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴. If we aren't 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯, then we aren't 𝘧𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴.

In my effort to achieve and maintain “fabulous”, I was unaware that I had created binge cycles. This was the path I embarked upon for the next two decades as I oscillated between thin and obese - but mostly obese.

𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁? Was the self-denial and self-deprivation worth it? I fainted while at work a few times due to poor nutrient intake during many months – 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁?

What you don't know and understand about your body can wreak havoc on your metabolism, your health and your quality of life. In order to reach a healthy weight, 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥. We 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘵. We certainly 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘺!

𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱. It 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 us and 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 that breathe life into our cells. We can make choices that support our health, our immune system, the daily demand of our bodies - and cultivate the energy to live a beautiful life.

𝗗𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝗹𝗯𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝟰𝟬𝗹𝗯𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀. Relish the beauty within you today as you take small steps towards a healthier weight. Throw out the mantras of starvation and self-deprivation – and 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 that you are 𝙛𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨...𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬!
