Big step forward in the medicinal market, go Greenfern Industries 😁
We’re really pleased to see some changes on the horizon to medicinal cannabis regulations here in New Zealand.
Yesterday it was announced that the Medicinal Cannabis Agency has approval for a series of modifications to the Misuse of Drugs (Medicinal Cannabis) Regulations 2019. For our business, they really are a game changer.
Some of the modifications include changing the quality requirements for exports, broadening definitions to cover a wider variety of plant forms, and enabling non-therapeutic research involving cannabis plant material or products obtained from the Medicinal Cannabis Scheme or the Industrial H**p Framework. It also means that compliance requirements will be streamlined while ensuring product quality isn’t diminished.
So what does this mean for Greenfern? Essentially, it means it will be that much easier for us to break into other international markets, we’ll be able to rationalise operational procedures and reduce our compliance costs. That’s a win for us, and for the consumer.
