25 years ago today, I married my husband at the altar under the cottonwoods of an ancient spring in the Chinati Mountains, south of Marfa.
Since then, we’ve lived a lifetime—love and laughter, seasons of uncertainty, raising a child who became our son, building an art ranch in a hacienda, creating new beginnings again and again.

This week, celebrating that love feels both tender and complicated.
Because alongside gratitude, there’s been heartbreak.
Flames of fear and rage have been stoked everywhere we turn.

What I keep returning to is this:
Love that endures does not ignore the fires.
It steadies us to face them.
It reminds us what’s worth protecting, what’s worth building, what’s worth choosing—again and again.

25 years.
Not without heartbreak.
Not without repair.
And still—love.
Love as anchor.
Love as resistance.
Love as the clearest perspective of all.
I love you, - I’d do it all over again. Here’s to many, many more years together.♥️

Corazón Contento.

To wake in the morning with a content heart.
To move through the day—the calls, the conversations, the yearnings and the demands on my time— held by a silent fullness.

To know pain, to feel grief, and in the same breath… gratitude.
Corazón Contento.

Corazon Contento demands a fierce guardian—fighting for beauty where its hidden, a warrior for joy lost in a pile of dung. Unyielding determinance. Reaching through the muck to pull that one thread that 's covered in slime and cockroaches, spiders and zombies because you know it's the only way to let the light in.

Travel waters my soul. The Sangre de Cristo mountains. The smell of rain-soaked creosote. The kraa of ravens in the pinyon. Sharing a cappuccino with the man of my dreams. Each one feeding my Corazón Contento.

What feeds yours? I’d love to know.

And if the answer feels far away right now, the Clarity Check-In can help you navigate toward it. Download it today and begin listening for what feeds the contentment of your heart.

Appreciation is fuel. It gives us energy to keep going, to reconnect, to feel more grounded.

When we take the time to appreciate those we love, oxytocin levels rise, stress levels drop, and we feel more connected. Appreciation reconnects the brain, the heart, and the nervous system.

Today, on National Dog Day, I'm appreciating Mischa -

For the way she reminds me to pause and savor simple moments.
For the way she greets me at the door with a wagging tail.
For the way she never doubts or questions, she never falters.
She is pure love.

Let’s fill this thread with appreciation. Post your dog pics here so we can all enjoy them.

Four days away. No phone. Just silence.

I turned it all off at a Jesuit monastery—and came back with something I didn’t expect.

The quiet didn’t make my questions disappear. It showed me how much noise I carry inside—and that there’s a steadier rhythm beneath it all.

It wasn’t about retreating forever. It was about remembering what’s here when I stop.

When’s the last time you let yourself pause long enough to hear what’s beneath the noise?

And if you’ve been craving that steadiness in the middle of daily life, that’s what the Unwinding Compass is for—simple ways to return to yourself, no monastery required.

I was doing everything “right” — working harder, staying later — and still getting nowhere.
The harder I pushed, the more stuck I felt.

One night, close to midnight, I was answering emails and felt the life draining out of me.
And I thought: Why am I pushing so hard?

That question cracked something open.

The next day, on a walk, I realized change doesn’t start with doing more.
It starts with noticing.

The first signal I noticed? My breath.
It eventually became the first point on the Unwinding Compass — and still the simplest way I pause in a busy day. (I’m doing it right now.)

Back then, I moved through my days in overdrive.
Now, there’s a “less is more” quality to how I meet challenges — and it’s made all the difference.

Where could you pause today, even for a moment, and notice your own signals?

If you’d like a simple way to start, I made The Clarity Check-In — a 5-minute guided practice to help you pause, reset, and return to what matters. You can download it free. https://tinyurl.com/nha9f3tm

Four Days. No Phone. Complete Silence.

Starting today…

I’m turning in my phone and stepping into four days of silence at a Jesuit monastery.

No notifications. No scrolling. Just stillness, listening, and whatever rises in the quiet.

See you on the other side.

When’s the last time you gave yourself real space?

Where’s your favorite place to pause and hear yourself think? I’d love to know.

The day I stopped powering through - and what to do instead.

I used to think the way forward was just to keep going.
No matter how tired I was.
No matter how much I wanted to stop.

One day, in the middle of a big project, I paused for just a moment — not because I wanted to, but because I had no choice. My mind was spinning. My chest felt tight.
Instead of pushing past it, I stepped outside.
I listened to the birds.
I let my shoulders drop.
I took three slow breaths.

It didn’t change the to-do list.
But it changed me.
I came back inside more grounded, more focused, and — maybe for the first time — I saw that powering through had been costing me more than it was helping me.

Now, this is something I practice with my clients all the time:
Pausing isn’t losing ground.
It’s choosing your ground.

This is what I help people make their new normal.
If you want more ways to pause without losing momentum, follow along here or message me, and I’ll share my favorite starting point.

This weekend was overflowing with inspiration ✨
Proud of Marco —it takes real courage to share your art with the world. Watching him create, I see not just the work itself, but the heart that makes it possible. And celebrating that he sold his piece! 🎨
Big congratulations to Han Cao, whose breathtaking new work won First Prize at the Texas Juried Exhibition at artspace 111 🏆
To Adeline for unveiling her stunning new piece—so much meaning woven into every detail.
And to Joey, whose self-portrait (not pictured) carries such depth and honesty.
The last photo is my mom @ with the tallest sunflower in Dallas.🌻
Creative expression in all its forms—whether you’re preparing a meal with intention, painting, tending a garden, writing, dancing, or building something with your hands—is why we’re here. It’s what feeds our souls and connects us to meaning.
When we create, we practice presence. We listen to what wants to emerge through us. We trust the process, even when we can’t see the outcome.
Your creative expression matters. Your voice matters. The thing you’re called to make or share or tend to—it matters.
📍 If you’re feeling disconnected from your creative self or unclear about what wants to emerge through you, download my free Clarity Check-In. It’s a gentle practice to help you tune into what’s stirring beneath the surface and trust what you discover there.

A Question for You Today

What would shift if you stopped waiting for clarity and started creating it?

Right now, take a moment and notice your breath. Place a hand on your heart.

Let yourself see what you’ve been avoiding, postponing, or overthinking.

Often, curiosity and asking the right questions are the first steps toward a new path.

This is what I help people do. Clients are thinking more clearly, making aligned decisions, and feeling steadier in the middle of busy lives.

They’re learning to trust themselves again.

If you’re ready to think clearly, trust yourself, and take aligned steps forward, let’s talk.

🌈 Even though Pride Month has ended, we continue to promote awareness of the dignity and equality of all humans.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to live in alignment with what matters most.

Clarity isn’t just about slowing down or managing your time better. It’s about how we live, love, and lead from our deepest values—and support others to do the same.

For me, standing for LGBTQ+, transgender, and nonbinary rights and dignity isn’t separate from clarity work. It is clarity in action.

Because what’s the point of getting clear if it doesn’t help us live in alignment with what truly matters?

Here’s to clarity rooted in courage, authenticity, and love—for ourselves and each other. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

✨ What’s one value you want to live more clearly this season? Drop it in the comments if you’d like. ❤️

Do you ever wonder what clarity really is- what it is for you?

It’s not just knowing what matters most—it’s taking action from that place.

Clarity looks like being focused and motivated to complete the project you’re working on.

And when you run into indecision or get stuck in overwhelm, you automatically refocus on what matters most because that’s your new habit you’re building.

Choices feel clearer.
Opportunities become more abundant because you are seeing differently.

You simplify your day, not by forcing yourself to do less, but because the choice is clear.

It doesn’t mean you never have questions. It means you keep coming back to what matters most, what’s most purposeful, meaningful, and memorable.

Clarity feels like breathing room. A quiet confidence. A steadiness in your next step.

It’s not something you wait for to move forward. It’s a practice—and it grows as you go.

What does clarity look like for you today?

Leave a word in the comments - I’d love to hear.
