WORDS OF THOUGHT:

I was on doctors assist for a caesarian section with other doctors and nurses few days ago..after an hour of the operation,the baby was brought out but to our amaze he wasn't crying... Immediately the nurses started their work...sucking the baby, tryna turn the baby around and hitting him on the back...even as a doctor I felt so much pity. I had to ask the question on why it was necessary to hit the baby that hard...when they can just rub him on the back or underneath the feet(sole ) nd the head nurse gave me the best answer that brought me thinking and writing this ...She said the baby needed to feel the pain so he can be alive!
Look at us today whining about heartbreak,failure,depression and every other pain we feel,some people cry their heart out,some even try take the pain off with some "PAINKILLERS" but the basic truth is that we have to feel to pain to be alive... God takes us thru many things in life just to build us up for what's coming...nd its only when we talk to HIM that HE can make it more easier to face,endure and overcome the pain!

There is no shortcut to success...its normal to pass thru pain, depression from anybody..some people thinks taking painkillers can resolve...but the pain will only come back when the painkillers fades off..."PAINKILLERS can be drugs,weeds,alcohol or even s*x ....We all have to face it,endure it so we can heal....

Anorexia is characterised by a distorted body image, with an unwarranted fear of being overweight. Anorexia isn't really about food. It's an extremely unhealthy and sometimes life-threatening way to try to cope with emotional problems. When you have anorexia, you often equate thinness with self-worth.
Anorexia, like other eating disorders, can take over your life and can be very difficult to overcome. But with treatment, medical talk,you can gain a better sense of who you are, return to healthier eating habits and reverse some of anorexia's serious complications.
Physical signs and symptoms of anorexia may include:
Extreme weight loss or not making expected developmental weight gains
Thin appearance
Abnormal blood counts
Fatigue
Insomnia
Dizziness and fainting
Absence of menstruation
Constipation and abdominal pain
Dry or yellowish skin
Intolerance of cold
Irregular heart rhythms
Low blood pressure
Dehydration
Emotional or behavioural symptoms may include:
Frequently skipping meals or refusing to eat
Denial of hunger or making excuses for not eating
Eating only a few certain "safe" foods, usually those low in fat and calories
Adopting rigid meal or eating rituals, such as spitting food out after chewing
Not wanting to eat in public
Lying about how much food has been eaten
Fear of gaining weight
complaining about being fat
social withdrawal
The exact cause of anorexia is unknown. As with many diseases, it's probably a combination of biological, psychological and environmental factors.
Severe complications of Anorexia may lead to death nd death may occur suddenly — even when someone is not severely underweight. This may result from abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) or an imbalance of electrolytes. other complications include Anemia,Bone loss (osteoporosis), increasing the risk of fractures,Loss of muscle,In females, absence of a period,and In males, decreased testosterone and kidney problems. There's no guaranteed way to prevent anorexia but if you notice that a family member or friend has low self-esteem, severe dietinghabits and dissatisfaction with appearance, consider talking to him or her about these issues.

Looking for the perfect healthy body isn't hard to find..the journey begins with some simple changes to your lifestyle.
The right diet,exercises and stress-relief plan all going to play a big role.
The first step in maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to follow a heart-healthy diet...this following easy recipe will keep away problems like heart disease and stroke; •eating more fruits and vegetables...which is the most essential because of its important content of vitamins and minerals. A high diet in fruit and vegetables can protect you against cancer,diabetes and heart diseases.

•choose whole grains....Whole grains is packed with protein,fiber,B vitamins, antioxidants and trace Minerals. A diet rich in whole grain has shown to reduce risk of heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer
•choose lean proteins like poultry,fish,beans and legumes... Lean proteins reduce hunger and boost metabolism which won't make you gain weight if you eat fewer calories than you burn...Higher protein intake is bad especially if you eat a lot of junk food causes high cholesterol level.
•Nd lastly cut down on processed foods,sugar,salt and saturated fats.
The second step is regular exercise... The more active you are the better. Exercises boost heart health,builds muscle and bone strength and wards off health problems. Aim for 2 and a half hours of moderate activity...if its even brisk walking or dancing every week...and if you are busy,walk often.
A good target is 10,000 steps a day.
Another step is to lose weight. when you shed pounds,you'll lower your risk of heart diseases, type 2 diabetes and cancer
Visit your doctor regularly, get regular checkups,create healthy habits,don't smoke,reduce alcohol intake And most importantly, cut down stress..it can take a toll on your health..try to set limits with yourself and others..its OK to say No sometimes.

We all know how hard it can be to change eating habit but with little focus on small changes,it's actually very beneficial especially if you have diseases that can be made worse by things you eating or drinking. People with conditions like kidney disease, lactose intolerance and celiac disease can benefit more from changes in diet.

Path to health improvement, things to consider in maintaining a good health is all going to be discussed in our next post.

Hello lovelies,On our last post talked about migraines,it's common causes and symptoms, nd now we are going to discuss about curtailment of migraine.... Over the years, preventive and pain-relieving medication are the only possible treatment for migrane headaches. And the following are ways you can manage at home, office or a far-away place from a hospital.
-Avoid migraine triggers like caffeine, alchohol, poor sleep, smoking.
-Good sleep pratices and avoiding naps
-Adjusting diets that can trigger migraine.
-Pursuing an enjoyable and relaxing activities that can balance mental health. -Tensing and relaxing of muscles group from head to toes
-when triggered; Acupuncture by insertion of needles to reduce pain might be required.
Here are the list of food that can help in management and curtailment; -Salmon. -Eggs. -Dark chocolate. -Shrimp. -Carrots and Sweet potato. -Liver and heart muscle. -Regular intake of Water

Here are also the types of food to stay away from to avoid triggering of Migraine;
-Nuts and seed. -Pizza and other tomato-based products. -Potato - chips products. -Smoked or Dried Foods. -Pickled Foods.

Good morning lovelies,our first medical discussion is on migrane which affects 70% on our total population most especially women.
Migraine is a type of headache with intense throbbing pain on just an area of the head;often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. A mugabe attack usually last up to 4 to 72 hours
Major Causes is yet unknown, but it is suspected that it results from abnormal activity in the brain but emotional triggers, stress, depression, anxiety, excitement, shock, caffeine, change in weather strong winds or change in altitude and even hormonal changes(during menstruation)
Symptoms are often mixed but the common ones include
-A start with a dull ache and slowly growing into an intense pain then gets wise during physical activities
-Sensitivity to light, noise and smell
-Nausea and vomiting, upset stomach and belly pain
-Lost of appetite
-Feeling very warm or very cold
-Pale skin
-Fatigue
-Dizziness
-Blurred vision
-Diarrhea
-Fever (rare case)
