They are essential, however, for the sustainability of the human race and the environment that supports us. As an environmental science student, I am painfully aware of the cost of poor farming choices and modernly accepted agricultural choices. I am aware of the cost not only to our health, but to the environment which sustains us. We made a decision some years ago, as a family, to not support in

dustries that do not make all efforts to support the environment by developing sustainable farming practices – such as the beef industry. As a result of these choices, we source only sustainable, ethical food products for our consumption. Several years ago, I developed gestational diabetes while pregnant. After the pregnancy ended, my diabetes remained. As someone who enjoys cooking, I’ve had to adapt many family favourite recipes to be more diabetic friendly. This blog brings you some of those recipes with sustainable and ethical consumption habits in mind.
