Final conference day and reflections on WFOT!

After the conference, which included 96 countries and 2444 attendees, Erin MacDavette, OT student at the MGH Institute shares her thoughts: “It was inspiring to be in a place with OTs from all around the world and learn about their unique perspectives. I gained a deeper understanding of OTs role and impact globally and how OT education must go beyond the classroom. As a student I was inspired to see the difference I can make in the classroom and when I start practicing. I will focus on participation in meaningful activities, creating global partnerships, and collaborating with local communities.”

Further, Dr. Colleen Muse reflects on her experience: “What an inspiring week-global awareness and connection has been awakened in a new and impactful way.” For Dr. Muse, “this week reaffirmed the importance of context and perspective sharing to all we do as OTs.”

This marks the second trip that Erin and Dr Muse have taken together across the program, from the Ghana immersion elective to presenting about experiences and finishing her capstone semester in Thailand!!
