A Journey to a Healthy Soul

A healthy soul, what does that look like? Have you thought about it, what your soul looks like? I can take you on a journey, a story that took 42 years in the making, to just that, a look inward toward a soul, on an adventure toward happiness.

Five years ago, if you would have asked me where I would be in the next five years, I surely would not have told you unemployed and the happiest I have ever been in my life! Five years ago, I was working a 9-5 job, or should I say a 6:30am-7:30pm job, 11-12 hours a day! I was married and had 3 children to take care of at home as well! I needed to work! Working in finance, at an oncology doctors office, was one of the most rewarding and difficult jobs of my life. BUT, I still had a loving husband and 3 beautiful children at home, who needed me as well as my patients did. I was running thin to say the least! But that is what we are taught is the American way. That's how we are supposed to live, giving most of our time to a company and balancing your family on the side, right?! One night a couple years ago, after a long hour drive home, my 80 year old father-in-law called. He had a horrible fall down his townhouse stairs and could not pull himself up off of the floor. He laid on the floor for 8 hours without being able to move, due to his injuries. Fast forward a few more months of him being in the hospital and we realized, he could no longer live on his own. He came to live with us. What a huge change that was for all parties! The hardest part of this came when we realized, we were going to have to live on my husbands income alone! My father in law needed more care and we could not afford to hire anybody. I had to quit my job, no longer would I balance my family on the side! I needed to be present at all times. Here was the situation, we had one son in college, two children still in elementary school, and a father who all depended on us financially. Lets talk about stress!! What are the biggest causes for divorce? One is money!! My husband and I were able to work through it, but it didn't come without heartache. So, I tried everything I could to help out financially, take care of my father in law, the kids, and my husbands sanity. I tried flipping houses, selling make up, baking cookies to sell, I even started a couple MLM’s that totally didn’t work. I had garage sales and even sold things on Offer Up and Craig’s List, what ever I could do to make some kind of money. I lost more than I made most of the time.

You ever had one of those nights, you were so tired, as soon as you hit the pillow you fell sound asleep? When you are out of your mind stressed, you hit that pillow and stare at the ceiling for hours...…..thinking, praying, crying, wishing. It sucks!! One night, I decided I was done worrying, I was sooo tired. I made myself a cup of tea and went onto Facebook. LOL! That’s what you do to take a mental break, right?! I saw an ad that I had seen before. BUT, I actually clicked on it this time and listened. That ad led me on a journey I could have never imagined I would be on! One click, it took one click and this was the journey I had been praying for, looking for! The journey that would fit my life and give me the financial freedom I needed to take care of my family, pay my bills, AND go on vacation! That's right, actually go on a vacation!!! I no longer had to work a 6:30am-7:30pm job to make money!! I could work online, be my own boss, and no longer report to a manager. That opportunity had given me the ability to live a life that I was created for, a life without financial stress, a life without sleepless nights, a life full of love, peace, and happiness! Finally, a life that was on a journey to a healthy soul!
