This Mother’s Day I am reminded that families come together as life and love would have it. All that’s required is an open heart.
First pic…my daughters Attica and Tembi took this one with me after their preschool dance recital performance. A few years later, the second shows a family expansion to include daughters-of-the-heart Michela and Yvonne Aguirre. Then after the girls were away in college, I became second mom to Arthur Flanagan after his mom and his grandmother (my aunt) both passed away. He went on to college at Prairie View A&M, then enlisted in the Navy where he continues to serve with distinction.
Fast forward to Christmas 2023, and here we are (Tembi took the photo and Michela had a death in her husband’s family) still blended and blessed with spouses and grandkids Zoela and Clara. Wasn’t easy. We just love each other and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
