This time of year is a challenge to increase hydration for so many reasons! The heat waves we continue to have are definitely making it difficult to keep up ☀️ on top of all of your normal summer activities🍹 this is a perfect recipe for dehydration & lots of bloat 😑

Below are some tips on how to increase hydration
💧download an app or set reminders to go off during the times of day you struggle the most
💧add a can of seltzer to your big water bottle to help flavor your water to make it more appealing
💧make a sticky note reminding you of the benefits of hydration for more motivation
💧try habit stacking (choose a habit you already do all the time & now pair sipping on water to it)

Fun Fact: I am a registered dietitian & I have no idea how many calories I eat or how many I “should” be eating on any given day of the week 🤯..
This always blows my client’s minds, but it is true, I don’t know how many calories are in the egg sandwich or salad I eat on a regular basis 🥗 You shouldn’t know how many calories are in the food you are eating if you want to have a good relationship with food & your body while STILL having the best health possible 💯..
Calories don’t tell you anything about the quality of the food or what nutrients are in the food, so I might not know how many calories are in my dinner, but I definitely know the amount of protein & fiber 💪🏼✨

MaryAnn Stockhauser, MS, RD, CDN

Hello! My name is MaryAnn Stockhauser and I am a Registered Dietitian (RD). I have my Master of Science in nutrition and dietetics through the accredited combined Master and Internship program at SUNY Oneonta. Currently, I work as an acute care clinical RD at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center through the Mohawk Valley Health System located in Utica, NY. I'm a nature loving, sweets seeker, who travels to enjoy the most well-known food around. I strongly believe there is power through food and nutrition to directly affect the way you feel and live not only now, but in the years to come. I am here to help guide and educate the everyday person on the impact of the choices they make each and every day. I'm just like you in so many ways, trying to live a healthy life in a world where every week there is a "new" way to do it. So, if you're ready to take this nutrition journey with me, hop on.
