Today, we're featuring one of our strong female clients - a mother of two, an entrepreneur, and (admittedly), a force in the gym. If you're a woman wondering, "is strength training for me?", let's break it down...
First things first --> Strength training isn’t just about lifting heavy weights. It's truly about lifting yourself up in every stage of life.
✨ Bone health: Weight-bearing exercise strengthens bones, lowering the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
✨ Metabolism: Muscle is a metabolically active tissue. More muscle tissue = higher metabolic rate (not to mention increased metabolic activity 24-48 hours after a strength training session).
✨ Hormones: Strength training & general exercise both support insulin sensitivity, blood sugar regulation, and can help with symptoms of PMS and menopause.
✨ Energy: Think of exercise like an "investment of energy". Invest energy into your workout, and gain energy for the rest of the day! Plus, with improved training capacity, you'll find that daily tasks (ie: walking the dog, doing laundry, carrying groceries, etc.) feel easier & less tiring.
✨ Longevity & independence: Building strength now means moving with freedom, balance, and capability for decades to come.
👉 It’s time to shift the mindset: lifting weights doesn’t make you “bulky.” It makes you resilient, energized, and ready to take on life.
