Adyptation

Adyptation Pairing patients with tools and specialists they need to achieve breakthroughs in disease management. Adyptation is a disease-state management company.

We study how the human body responds to what it is exposed to and apply our understanding of that process in ways that can benefit people living with diseases that are difficult to manage and treat. Our Alerts software quantifies the ability of treatment strategies to reduce symptoms that occur as a result of chronic inflammation. We pair users with a direct-specialty physician, and these specialists have their own login to Alerts. That way, the physician specialist can work with and coach the app user toward the treatment strategies that will have the most beneficial impact on that person’s symptoms. Alerts users gain access to a holistic experience that effectively targets their unique challenges. Their self-funded employers realize critical savings and the advantage of delivering useful benefits to their teams. With Alerts, health insurance brokers add a powerful solution to their toolkit when crafting innovative health plans, and forward-thinking pharmacy benefits managers deliver on innovation and transparency in their offerings. Last week, our fearless leader Ryan Jankord was in Texas for The Lions Den DFW's 7th annual event. As Rachel McDonough put it, "It's like Shark Tank with a soul." ❤️

Ryan also attended the Defense Strategies Institute's Operational Medicine Symposium. (If you didn't know, Ryan got involved with operational medicine when he was a civilian scientist for the Air Force Research Laboratory - AFRL.)

Way to go, Ryan! Represent! 🙌

Check it out: Here's a quick, five-minute discussion between Jeff Kreikemeier, a gastroenterologist from St. Louis and an approved provider of Alerts software and our product team manager, Karen Cornelissen (who at the time was our customer success manager), on why Dr. Kreikemeier decided to start his own direct specialty care practice (PostRx Personalized Healthcare) and why he’s excited to have patients on the Alerts platform.

Thank you, Dr. Kreiekemeier, for taking the time to share with us your thoughts on healthcare delivery and the benefits of a holistic approach to digestive health!

Values are not an absolute reflection of a company (💡 after all, there's a difference between what a company is and what it aspires to be), but values can still tell you something about how a company is trying to achieve its mission.

These are ours:

⭐ Blazing New Trails. That means we are not satisfied with the standard way of doing things. We want to play a part in creating a new world, so we take risks and venture into uncharted territory.

⭐ Making Consistent Progress & Celebrating the Journey Along the Way. That means we care about making sure the efforts we put toward achieving our goals are sustainable, and we care about taking the time to appreciate small victories.

⭐ Benefitting Others. We are committed to being responsible stewards and serving our employees, customers, investors, partners, and communities. We are passionate about generating a net positive effect in healthcare by improving patients’ quality of life and reducing the economic burden of care.

ICYMI: We recently hired a software developer named Joshua Drumm. He specializes in the development of web applications. He holds a Master of Computer Software Engineering from Arizona State University, and when he’s not working for Adyptation, you may find him on his bike or painting the walls of his new digs—he just closed on a new home! 🏡

Fun fact: Josh is working on his disc golf throwing technique, which he is modeling after his dad’s disc golf toss. It’s a far-reaching overhand throw, and it’s a site to behold. 🥏

Josh, we love seeing your home office come together in your new house. Thanks for coming on board, Josh. We’re so glad to have you on the team!

We pair patient users of our Alerts software with a specialist physician who prioritizes making the patient feel heard. These docs have their own login to the Alerts platform where they can check in on patient progress and use that insight to collaborate with the patient in uncovering the best treatment strategies. Doctors with a truly patient-centered approach go the extra mile to ensure their patients have the tools, skills, and education they need to take control over their health.

Take Diana Girnita MD, PhD, the Rheumatologist OnCall, for example.

Earlier this year, she put out a blog post explaining what direct specialty care is, how that impacts prospective patients, and the benefits those patients get by choosing to go the direct specialty care route. After all, many folks with rheumatic diseases might benefit from her style of practice but not have any familiarity with direct specialists. As she explains, “Direct specialty care rebuilds the relationship between patients and physicians and makes medicine uncomplicated, improving patient access to excellent care. We treat people, not diseases.”

Get Dr. G’s post “Direct Specialty Care – What Is It and Why Do I Need It?” and other educational reads on everything from at-home arthritis care to the impact of diet on inflammation at https://rheumatologistoncall.com/blog/.

Thank you, Dr. Girnita, for your excellent work in direct specialty care!

Do you know Nathan Morris, MD? He’s the founder and a family medicine provider at Good Medicine and the Chief Medical Advisor to Pure Encapsulations.

Dr. Morris practiced traditional medicine for eight years before experiencing burnout and a deep frustration with the medical system. He realized he’s passionate about helping patients by searching for the root causes of their diseases so they can experience healing. As a result, he became certified in Functional Medicine and founded Good Medicine (which has locations in Oxford, Ohio, and Palmer Lake, Colorado).

The right doctor can be a powerful ally in a patient’s journey to take greater control over their health. That is why we pair users of our Alerts software with physicians like Dr. Morris who prioritize making the patient feel heard. Docs like Dr. Morris have their own login to the Alerts platform where they can check in on patient progress and use that insight to collaborate with the patient in uncovering the best treatment strategies.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Morris on board as an approved provider of Alerts software. If you want to get to know Dr. Morris a bit more, check him out at https://goodmedicinecolorado.com/.

Thank you, Dr. Morris, for your excellent work in family practice!

This meme is from this our most recent meme contest winner, Josh Drumm.

We had a meme contest for the first time in quite a while at the end of last week, which means that this was the first opportunity for a few team members to participate in such an activity. If you didn’t know, we’re a remote company, so we’re always on the lookout for ways we can get together and do something fun every now and again.

How an Adyptation meme contest works: Our meme contest creator, Steve Helms, selects an image (see the photo on the meme’s left of a River disc falling short of the basket…and into a river). Staffers are tasked with turning the image into a funny meme. Then we gather, everyone presents their meme one at a time, and then the group votes for the best meme (and contenders may not vote for themselves). We’ve only done this a few times, but the prize for winning is usually something small and related to the selected.

Josh won by a landslide and is now the proud owner of a Latitude 64 Opto Fuse midrange disc. 🥏

Congratulations, Josh! 🥳 Enjoy your new disc.

Allow us to introduce Melanie Gravitt, who is joining us as Customer Success Manager! Melanie comes from strong background in restaurant management, operations, and human resources. When she’s not ensuring fantastic customer experiences for Adyptation, you might find her working on her MBA from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga or in her garden, where she tends to several large, raised beds. 🥕 🌱 🥕

Welcome to the team, Melanie! We’re glad to have you on board.

Did you know? Adyptation’s name comes from the word adaptation, and it is pronounced the same way.

“As a scientist, I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body adapts to what it is exposed to,” says our CEO and founder, Ryan Jankord, “so the ability to adapt, or adaptation, interests me most and is the basis for naming the company.”

He adds, “How an individual responds to their environment determines whether their health improves or a disease progresses. We aim to understand this process of adaptation and apply that knowledge in ways that can help benefit the patient.”

And there you have it. 😃
