When we first found out that our dad had weeks to live and it was time to have him transferred to hospice, we were devastated. We knew it would happen but not this soon.

Hospice...I had no idea what it was. I drove by it sometimes and thought it looked nice on the outside and just thought that maybe on the inside, it was like a hospital. I was wrong.

The night our Dad was transferred to Hospice Vaughan, I walked into the facility and was taken aback at how beautiful it was and how it was peaceful and calm.
Instantly, I felt our dad would be treated with compassion and dignity facing the end of his life. In the days that followed, the staff also supported us as a family with anything we needed, checking in on us during this difficult time.

All of this....at no cost. We couldn't believe it.
I realized that government funding only covers 50% of their operating costs. The rest depends on fundraising and donations.
After the heartwarming quality of care our father received, we knew we had to take part in this event.

Please help us support this event so that Hospice Vaughan can continue to provide high-quality care to other families.

As most of you know, our father passed away December 5th, 2024. He spent his final days at Hospice Vaughan, where he received the utmost level of care, and we received such amazing support in our grieving process.

🥑 Nutrition ~ is there something you are eating, or maybe too much of or too little of a type of food that is causing you to have: low energy after meals? Digestive issues? Skin breakouts? Trouble sleeping? Brain fog? Listen to your body!

🚶‍♀️Movement ~ If it doesn't energize you, take a rest day or try something new. Find something that fuels your body, mind, and soul. Choose movement that feels good.

🧘‍♀️Slow down/Rest ~ Is your energy low? Feeling rundown? Unmotivated? Stressed?
It's ok to slow down, reset, take a break, go for a walk, or do nothing at all.

💧 Hydrate ~ thirsty? Hungry? Brain fog? Fatigue? Low energy? Sugar cravings? Drink water!

Pay attention to what your body may be telling you. Your body really does know best!

Two weeks down, five days to go!

I’m attempting to do 2,000 push-ups in 18 days as part of The Push-Up Challenge to push for better mental health in Canada. This number represents the ~2,000 lives lost to su***de every day, worldwide.

So far, I’ve completed 1280 push-ups and It has been a CHALLENGE!

It's a different kind of flex today.

With report card stress, a severe migraine, emotional overload, and not being able to see my dad because of a covid outbreak in his retirement home, and so much more, it has been a WEEK.

BUT I crushed every DAMN workout 💪 💪💪
and I'm SUPER proud of myself.

Sitting here unable to get up just yet after a killer sweat sesh LOL and with my sweet pup Theo who is always on the mat with me, no matter what, I am still smiling because I am grateful for so much.

How you show up for yourself will speak volumes when it's time to show up for others. You can not fill the cup of your neighbor or your loved ones when you're depleted. I tried and learned the hard way.
Take care of you, take care of them, in that order. 💞
