You may have noticed a new symbol, “AMST Made”, recently added to our newly redesigned packaging. AMST, advanced mechanical separation technology, authenticates our “deconstructed”technique used for isolating cannabinoids and terpenes from a full spectrum solventless extract.

Check out these behind the scenes shots of the Garlic Cookies, aka GMO, solventless extract flight ✈️ to help us illustrate the following info.

The top image is of fresh press live rosin placed directly into a jar that has been cold cured for an extended period of time without any manipulation. The fresh press naturally changes from a sap-taffy consistency to a semi-homogenized Live Rosin causing the terpenes to reconstitute in top layer of the jar. The 2 layers would normally get mixed into a fully homogenized Live Rosin consistency for final packaging.

The bottom left image of Live THCa and bottom right image of Live Rosin Sauce are derived directly from the Live Rosin jar featured in the top image using Blue River™️ AMST.

Live THCa, aka Snow, is a 98-99% raw solventless isolate comprised of THCa, CBGa, CBCa, and 1-2% concentration of terpenes. The terpenes that remain in this product tend to be softer, floral, aromatic, and elegant in comparison to the terpenes concentrated in the Live Rosin Sauce.

The Live Rosin Sauce is a full spectrum solventless oil with 2-3x more concentration of terpenes then in the starting Live Rosin. Live Rosin contains on average 4-8% of plant fats “lipids” from the “skins” of the trichome heads being liquified during the process of making Live Rosin. The Live Rosin Sauce undergoes further mechanical refinement in order to remove all impurities prior to going into a a final Blue River™️ Live Rosin Sauce Cart.

Trichome heads make up the largest concentration of the plant’s cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

Flower Rosin (Middle Left) is created by squishing the cannabis buds, not resin glands, thru 25-90u filters, under very high pressure, and short increments of moderately high heat. This Solvent-less extraction method produces the highest yields and creates a more affordable extract for consumers. Flower Rosin will inherently have higher concentrations of plant fats “lipids” and generally lower in potency than Hash Rosin or Live Rosin. The extract itself will have a very floral aroma, robust flavor, and can vary from sappy oil to yellow butter like texture.

Dry Sift Rosin “Solvent-less Hash Oil” (Middle) is created by squishing isolated trichome heads (Top Right) thru 25-micron filters under high pressure with low heat. This process produces a full spectrum extracts that captures higher concentrations of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. A solvent-less hash oil from dry sift offers a full spectrum extract with a robust flavor, higher levels of THCa, minimum plant fats, and moderate to high terpene preservation when compared to Flower Rosin. The consistencies will vary from a wet to dry butter like textures and tan - yellow – white in color depending on the actual resin profiles.

Live Rosin (Middle Right) is made from harvesting trichomes from fresh frozen buds, not dry buds, with a specific desired range of head sizes (70u-149u) to be pressed into a Rosin. Live Rosin may initially look like a clear to yellow oil but can quickly turn into a washed-out or chalky white textured butter due to high levels of monoterpenes that evaporate off at room temperature and isolate THCa. Live Rosin is the lowest yielding of the 3 different types of Rosin and is the most expensive in the group. It is also the most sought after for hash connoisseurs who seek unique fresh “live” plant like flavorful profiles.

Over the last decade the cannabis industry has traditionally relied on sub-critical C02, ethanol, or butane extraction methods to create a variety of cannabis oils designed specifically for mobile va**ng devices.

These extraction methods utilize a gas to liquid solvent-based extraction method to dissolve the cannabis flower material into a crude oil. The crude oil contains plant fats that gets further refined with ethanol in a 2 step process called winterization + distillation. This requires decarboxylation, which alters cannabis terpenes + phytocannabinoids, many collect terpenes throughout this process to reintroduce them back into the refined oil called a Distillate or HTSE.

A Solvent-free concentrate means a solvent was used in the process but was then removed in it’s entirety; however, not all solvent-based processes are in fact able to remove all residual solvents. Each State has adapted their own tolerances they have determined safe for public consumption.

In the last 5 years, the cannabis industry has expanded the technology to achieve these desired cannabis oils for vaporization without the use of solvents.

A Solvent-less extract oil is achieved without the use of gases, solvents, or decarboxylation. Flower Rosin, Dry Sift Rosin, and Live Rosin fall into the “Solvent-less” category. Flower Rosin & Dry Sift Rosin are both achieved thru dry mechanical extraction methodologies, whereas Live Rosin is achieved thru “wet” cold water mechanical extraction methods to remove resin glands. Water is a universal solvent but in the case of Live Rosin it is being used as a “carrier” not dissolving cannabis flowers or resin glands in the process.
