Thank you Zahav Events for having me featured in Martha Stewart discussing the needs of an elimination diet (https://www.marthastewart.com/8144251/elimination-diet-tips). Meal times should be an enjoyable experience with less focus on food and more focus on fun! I help parents reduce the stress and anxiety around feeding their families, especially picky eaters. However, when a child or parent is faced with challenges such as an allergy or sensitivity, it can become an overwhelming daily battle.

So many of us are fortunate to be able to enjoy foods without thinking twice but many people are affected by allergies and sensitivities, leaving them with debilitating symptoms, which can sometimes be life threatening. I am honored that every day I get to help those of you suffering to make meal times a more positive and less stressful experience.

What food challenges do you face?

We asked a registered dietitian to share everything there is to know about elimination diets, which are used to determine food allergies or gut condition triggers. For example, the low FODMAP diet is a common elimination diet for IBS sufferers.

I’ve had this conversation at least half a dozen times in the past week. I’ll be talking to you about your eating habits and I get all sorts of answers. You’re a picky eater, you don’t like certain foods, you don’t have time to eat, your eating habits are all over the place. Then you’ll tell me your little one has had his challenges but you’ve just come to accept it. You’ll just offer him the food you know he’ll eat and it’s fine. Maybe you should be doing something different but at least he eats.

Now lets get back to you. How difficult is it to start making changes in your eating habits. Now imagine if you set your little one up for success right from the beginning. We can work together to reach your nutrition goals and develop an eating plan that works for the whole family. Family meals can be that much simpler, way less stressful and an enjoyable time for everyone!

Wouldn’t it be easier if you could all just eat the same foods? Don’t you want your kiddie to eat more kinds of foods?

If this speaks to you, send me a message and let’s chat some more.

Give me a 🙋🏻‍♀️ if your kiddie is constantly asking for treats and/or you are constantly craving sweets.

Is it something in the air because I’m hearing this and feeling this so much lately! Moms are stretched beyond their limits when it comes to sleeping, eating, schooling, working, feeding, etc, etc. Your kiddies are also always asking for a treat and you’re at a loss as to whether you should just give in. Will it make you a bad mom? OF COURSE NOT! It’s totally possible to offer your kids sweets and not feel bad or guilty for it.

In fact, you want to be able to normalize their relationship with all kinds of foods including sweets. When we restrict sweets, we make them even more enticing (Think about the last time you tried to restrict yourself of anything- doesn’t it make you want it more?). And let’s be real, they will have exposures and access to these foods at some point.

So, if you want to know how to enjoy a summer with ice cream but also fresh fruit, bbq’d chicken, and grilled veggies let’s figure out how to normalize these treats:

*Call them what they are- cookies, cake, Oreos, etc (avoid calling them bad food, junk foods, treats, etc)

*Include them in your menu (for meals and/or snacks)

* Include them as part of the meal (trust me, it works!)

* Avoid using foods as bribes

Pressure killing your game? 😩.
I have worked with lots of moms and given plenty of presentations to many caregivers over the years and the one thing that often comes as a surprise is what amounts to pressure.

Kiddies are so sensitive to pressure and really like to dominate a sense of control when it comes to eating. So when they are exposed to even a minimal amount of pressure, they push back. We wouldn’t even think that many of the things we do or say would be regarded as pressure. We also don’t realize the effect it can have on their eating experience.

I know that there are so many things to be worrying about and making sure our kiddies are well fed is just one of them! So if you want to know more about this and navigating mealtimes with your kiddies join my Facebook community to hear more!

Hands up 🙌 if your kiddie went from adventurous eater to super picky?

One of my clients told me, “He used to be so much more open to trying new things, grabbing things, and enjoyed food. Now I see that he’s really not!”

Did you know that it’s completely normal for your kiddies to become pickier as they leave infancy behind and enter toddler life? As they assert their independence, it’s also normal for you to stress and be anxious that they’re getting proper nutrition. You don’t have to do it alone though.

Let’s work together to eliminate your stress around your kiddies’ eating and reassure you that you’re feeding properly and they’re eating right to grow and develop. If you’re feeling uneasy about their eating then schedule a FREE call so that we can talk about it. Link in bio.

Do you feel unmotivated to make meals for you and your family? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Let me tell you about a client that reached out to me. Our first conversation started with her list of concerns that kept growing. She was concerned with her eating habits and her relationship with food. She wanted a meal plan that worked for her. As we
continued our conversation, we realized that her struggles with food were becoming a concern for her kids’ intake, as well.

She envisioned what her ideal mealtime should look like but didn’t know how to get there. When we began, we tackled each concern, one step at a time. Now we’re a few weeks in, and we’re already seeing the family tackling each bite with laughter and joy!

Mealtimes can be simple, nutritious, and tasty, where the whole family can enjoy them together. Regular food and happy mealtimes don’t have to be a dream, let’s make them your reality.

Give me a 👍 if you agree!

Mom and I have been talking for a while now. She is at her wits’ end because she can’t seem to get through to her hubby that what he eats matters. It matters because he’s putting his health at risk but more so because he’s influencing the kiddies.

So I got on the phone with dad and we talked about his thoughts on food. He didn’t seem too worried about his fussiness when it comes to eating healthy. He figured, he might as well enjoy life and eat what he likes. And then we got to talking about the kiddies. He told me, “To be honest, I’m a little worried. Whatever I do and whatever I say, my eldest copies everything. I don’t want him picking up on my terrible habits.”

We don’t realize it but our kiddies watch us and copy us.
They see black and white. If daddy does it, then it must be okay. And sometimes it is okay to enjoy your cheeseburger and fries but not all the time.

So if you want your kiddies to grow up and:

·
👌Have a positive relationship with food,

·
👌Eat well and

·
👌Eat a variety of foods

It’s gotta start with you! You’re their role model and boy do they look up to you.

Have you ever felt bad about the options
that you provide for your kiddies’ school snacks?

I had this conversation with my client.
She felt bad because she wanted to provide healthy food options for her kiddies. However, her fussy eaters made that a bit of challenge for her. She told me, “My kiddies don’t like that their snacks are different than their friends but I want my kids to be healthy.”

If we work together, we can devise a meal plan that will help you feel confident in the food choices you are offering your kiddies without them feeling restricted.

Apply to my program if you want to fix your relationship with food while benefitting your children.

Do you constantly battle with feeding your family?

My client was constantly battling with feeding her family. Her kiddies were fussy eaters and after a few attempts at trying to feed them healthier options, she gave up and started offering chicken nuggets more often than she wanted. It was causing her so much stress because she had to prepare two different meals.

“I’m trying to lose weight but also want my kids to eat healthy. I need tips on how to feed them healthy and make foods that they will eat.”

It is possible to support your nutrition and health goals while still modeling healthy behaviours for your kiddies. My clients get the support they need for them to achieve this.

So today I went to a wedding. Actually, I watched a wedding livestreamed online and I decided to dress up. For no other reason then I wanted to look and feel my best. No one was going to see me so this time it was just for me.
Sometimes, in life you need to invest in yourself to help you look and feel great. For YOU!

Because when you do, you can be the best mom, partner, parent, and person for the people you love most.

Are you worried what your kids might think about your dieting?

A client came to me and said, “I’ve gained a lot of weight and have been really stressed. I want to lose weight but I’m worried about what message it will send to my kids. I want to lose and eat healthier. I don’t want them to lose weight but I want them to be healthy.”

Your kiddies’ food choices and their relationship with food often stem from what they learn from you.

In my program, I teach you to make healthier choices, and support your nutrition goals. I work with you to create a meal plan that works for your whole family so that you can continue to shine at being their role model.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE DREADED WORDS THAT YOUR KID IS FAT? HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

I was talking to a potential client who was distressed because she was at a community event and she overheard someone say that her kiddie was fat. She felt like she was punched in the gut. It hit her hard because she was struggling with her own weight issues and now she was worried about her kiddies’ health too.

There’s nothing more heartbreaking then when another person or kid attacks your child.

Unfortunately, there are some mean people out there and while you can’t control them, you can control the way you teach your child to accept and respect their body.

I work with my clients to set healthy boundaries to support their child’s growth in a healthy and positive way.

Working with me, you will go from hesitant feeder to confident feeder knowing that they are eating well without feeling restricted. You will be helping them foster a healthy relationship with food and their body that will last a lifetime, while working on your own goals at the same time.

If you’re ready to change your life and theirs then send me a message.
