Who is eligible for Mounjaro from GPs right now?

The NHS has recently released the criteria for accessing weight loss injections via your GP Surgery.

The first phased cohort eligible for Mounjaro on the NHS is only for those with BMI above 40 and with 4 of 5 defined comorbidities:-
1. Diagnosed hypertension
2.Diagnosed sleep apnoea
3. Diagnosed type 2 diabetes
4. Diagnosed cardiovascular disease
5. Diagnosed hypercholesterolemia

If you do not have a BMI above 40 and four of the conditions above, Westongrove will not be able to prescribe you Mounjaro for weight loss. We have received many queries from patients wishing to see a GP to discuss their eligibility for this new service, resulting in unnecessary appointments for patients that do not quality for Mounjaro injections under the NHS.

We have identified the patients eligible for this NHS service, and we will be in contact with them directly to discuss this further.

FROM the 1st July 2025, routine cervical screening intervals will be extending from 3 yearly to 5 yearly, for all Negative results, if your aged 25-49 after attending cervical screening on or after this date.

Those who have had a smear BEFORE the 1st July 2025 and test Negative, will still have their next recall at 3 years and then fall into the 5yr recall, if negative.

Studies have shown that if a person tests negative for hrHPV sampling at a cervical screening, they are extremely unlikely to go on to develop cervical cancer within the next 10 years. A study in England, published by King’s College London, showed that 5-year screening intervals are as safe as 3-year intervals; the same number of cancers will be prevented and less frequent cervical screening tests are needed.

We have a new car management system at Wendover Health Centre - please read all of the points in order to avoid a fine.

🚗We are introducing the new system in response to patient feedback about the challenges of finding parking when visiting the surgery, causing delays and frustration.

🚗Parking will remain free for patients - just enter your vehicle registration number upon arrival at the surgery.

🚗The car park will be managed by Parking Eye and we will not receive any profit from this arrangement.

🚗We’ve also arranged for the car park to be available to the public for a small fee at the weekends.

🚗Saturday 7.30am - Sunday 7.30am £3.00
🚗Sunday 7.30am - Monday 7.30am £1.00

🚗Payment will be made using the Evology Pay app available to download from the App Store.

🚗Clear signage will be going up soon, and once we have a confirmed go live date, we’ll let you know.

🚗Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in a parking charge of £100.

The National Autistic Society Survey Report 2025 reveals that in the UK:

➡️More than half (55%) of people with autism avoid going out because they are worried how people will treat them.
➡️A quarter (25%) of people with autism said they usually get a negative reaction when they say they have autism.
➡️Nine in 10 people with autism (90%) have experienced poor mental health due to attitudes or perceptions of autism, and 84% have experienced social isolation.

➡️There are many simple ways society can make a difference to people with autism and their families. Whether taking steps to understand their experience of the world, allowing time for them to process information and space to regulate, or advocating for colleagues with autism in the workplace.

Your involvement can make a real difference and it’s all about how you show up – whether you are supporting your colleagues with autism or family members, your actions can help create an accepting world.

Showing up for the autistic people in your life can be easier and more rewarding than you might think. There are so many simple, everyday ways you can make a huge difference while helping build a kinder, more supportive world for everyone.
