Our Story
Hi! I’m Jenn and welcome to my page. I’m a wife, mom of three girls ages 10, 5 and 3, and a full-time registered nurse. I’ve been an RN for almost 13 years and have worked with various adult patient populations, from stem cell transplant to outpatient chemotherapy, to my current position in a medical intensive care unit. I started using essential oils in April of 2016, after seeing their many uses and how my sister-in-law had incorporated them into her family. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. I even purchased my first two oils (lavender and cedarwood) from Amazon, mainly because they were cheap, they were prime shipping (which is free), and I had no clue what I was doing! When they arrived, along with a $25 diffuser (which has since broken), I opened them, smelled them, put a little in the diffuser and then thought, ok, now what? But the smell didn’t really fill the room as I had anticipated it would, and I was afraid to put them on anyone’s skin because I really didn’t know what I had purchased. So, I went back to my sister-in-law and got some more information about Young Living. What I was most impressed with was their Seed to Seal promise, which guarantees what it says on the bottle, is what you’re getting, 100% therapeutic grade essential oil. They also have an entire Vitality line for human consumption, complete with FDA-compliant labeling, so I knew just by seeing the white that it was safe to ingest. They’ve been around the longest, have more single and blended essential oils for sale than any other reputable company, and they’re just an amazingly generous company. I’ve been able to swap out a lot of common household items, for cleaner, non-toxic, but just as practical solutions by making my own dish soaps, dishwasher tabs, all-purpose cleaners, lotions, face and body washes, and even bar soaps. I’ve met some of the most incredible people along this journey who have been there every step of the way with their encouragement, suggestions, humor and most importantly friendship and support. The ability to incorporate natural alternatives into my household by making roller blends and using the oils topically and aromatically, either to alleviate a symptom or to make the “house smell wonderful” (as my daughter often say), has felt so empowering. Coupled with swapping out some of the toxic everyday products we had been using, it quickly became evident that this was a win-win all the way around. The nurse in me understands the importance of health, the mom in me wants to protect and care for my family, and essential oils have allowed me to do both while introducing me to an entire community of active, like-minded people. So if you’re ready, I’d love for you to join us!
