KORU Counselling and nature therapy I am a therapist with a background in nature and art. I’m a fully trained counsellor, coming from a Person Centred perspective.

I work with clients within a therapeutic indoor space or out in nature, journeying alongside to help realign and unfurl towards true potential. I use an integrative approach... creatively tailored to suit individual needs. Using Counselling, Art therapy, Connecting with nature... I facilitate an inner journey, integrating the body with the mind… healing and unfurling towards an authentic self. To

be ‘at home’ within oneself …

Perhaps you have forgotten what brings you joy… what fires your passion? Depression is often a feeling of ‘deep -repression’

I’m an EMDR trained therapist. This is a somatic way of working and
can help desensitise your nervous system… to help manage current issues such as: -

Flashbacks
Anxiety
Phobias
Traumatic events
Excessive grief
Somatic symptoms
Pain
Changing unwanted behaviours
Dentist fear
Addiction

Meryl Streep once said

Let things fall apart.
Stop exhausting yourself trying to keep together what was never meant to last.
Not everything is forever and trying to force something that’s already breaking will only drain your spirit.

Let go.
Let people be upset. Let them misunderstand. Let them judge.
Their opinions are not your truth, they’re a reflection of their own reality.

You owe no explanation to those committed to misunderstanding you.
You are not responsible for how others choose to see you.

Stop fearing the unknown.
Stop asking “What now?” as if the universe hasn’t already prepared a path for you.

Loss isn’t always the end.
Sometimes, it’s the beginning.
It’s the space being cleared for something better, something more aligned with who you are becoming.

What’s meant to go, will go.
What’s meant to stay, will stay, even through chaos.
There’s a rhythm to life. A divine order of endings and beginnings.

When we resist the flow, we suffer.
We cling to the past, fearing we’ll never feel joy again.
But that’s an illusion.

The universe is abundant.
There’s more love, more peace, more purpose waiting for you
if you’re brave enough to let go of what no longer belongs.

And remember this
The best is not behind you.
There’s still magic to feel, joy to embrace, love to receive.
Make space for it.

✨ So ask yourself
What am I holding onto that’s holding me back?
And when you know the answer
Trust yourself enough to let it go.

Because something better is already on its way.

“Farm work doesn’t make you stronger.”
It doesn’t make you anything.
It reveals you.
There’s gym strong and then there’s farm strong.
They are not mutually exclusive.

The toughest women you’ll ever meet spend their days on a farm.

There are more uses for twine than you can possibly imagine.

“Well that certainly didn’t go as planned,” is one thing you’ll say quite a bit.

Control is a mere illusion... The thought that you have any, at any given time, is utterly false.

Sometimes sleep is a luxury...So are lunch and dinner. And brushing your hair.
Trust me, you’ll find muscles that you never knew existed on the human skeleton to prevent this from happening.

When one of the animals is ill, you’ll go to heroic lengths to minimize their discomfort.

Their needs come first.

In summer heat and coldest winter days. Clean water, clean bed, and plenty of feed. Before you have your first meal, they all eat.

When you lose one of them, even though you know that day is inevitable, you still feel sadness, angst and emotional pain from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. And it’s a heaviness that lingers even though you must regroup and press on.

You’ll cry a lot. But you’ll never live more fully.

You’ll remain present no matter what because you must. There is no other option.
You’ll ask for so many miracles and hold out hope until the very last.

You’ll find yourself saying things like, “we have maybe twenty minutes of daylight left to git ‘er done” whilst gazing up at a nonspecific place in the sky.

You’ll become weirdly obsessive about the weather.

You’ll go out in public wearing filthy clothes and smelling of dirt, sweat and p**p.

People will look at you sideways and crinkle their noses but you won’t care.

Your entire day can derail within ten seconds of the rising sun.

You can wash your coveralls. They won’t look any cleaner, but they will smell much nicer.

Farm work is difficult in its simplicity.

You’ll always notice just how beautiful sunrises and sunsets really are.

Should you ever have the opportunity to work on a farm, take the chance!

You will never do anything more satisfying in your entire life.”

Meryl Streep once said: "Aging is not for the weak. One day you wake up and realize that your youth is gone, but along with it, so go insecurity, haste, and the need to please... You learn to walk more slowly, but with greater certainty. You say goodbye without fear, and you cherish those who stay. Aging means letting go, it means accepting, it means discovering that beauty was never in our skin... but in the story we carry inside us."

So true…

“Leaving is not enough; you must
stay gone. Train your heart
like a dog. Change the locks
even on the house he’s never
visited. You lucky, lucky girl.
You have an apartment
just your size. A bathtub
full of tea. A heart the size
of Arizona, but not nearly
so arid. Don’t wish away
your cracked past, your crooked
toes; your problems
are papier mache puppets
you made or bought
because the vendor was so
compelling you just
had to have them. You had
to have him. And you did.
And now you pull down
the bridge between your houses.
You make him call before
he visits. You take a lover
for granted, you take
a lover who looks at you
like maybe you are magic. Make
the first bottle you consume
in this place a relic. Place it
on whatever altar you fashion
with a knife and five cranberries.
Don’t lose too much weight.
Stupid girls are always trying
to disappear as revenge. And you
are not stupid. You loved a man
with more hands than a parade
of beggars, and here you stand. Heart
like a four-poster bed. Heart like a canvas.
Heart leaking something so strong
they can smell it in the street."

"There's a flame of magic inside every stone and every flower, every bird that sings and every frog that croaks.
There's magic in the trees and the hills and the river and the rocks, in the sea and the stars and the wind — a deep, wild magic that's as old as the world itself.

It's in you too, my darling girl, and in me, and in every living creature, be it ever so small. Even the dirt I'm sweeping up now is stardust. In fact, all of us are made from the stuff of stars."
