I wanted to reintroduce myself as we have some new faces in here 🥰😋
I'm Darleen, and I'm a Myofunctional Therapist in Southern Utah. My background is in dental, so it has been an amazing transition that I never expected to go so smoothly. Who knew that tongues and teeth are so related! 😉

I offer in-person or virtual help to most ages, even little 2 year olds who may not be ready for a full myofunctional program, but may need some help learning how to use their oral muscles.

Myofunctional therapy is designed to help oral dysfunctions and prevent issues like:
💤Poor sleep
Sleep apnea
ADHD
😲Mouth breathing
Snoring
🛌Bedwetting
Trouble with moods
🦷Teeth grinding
Jaw troubles
Facial appearance
Crooked teeth
👅Tongue thrust/swallow

I sure love spending time with my crew and listening to all the success stories! 🤗

The baby in the first two photos...the pictures are one month apart since her tongue tie release, and SHE GAINED 3 POUNDS!!!!!!! And the sweet little boy had his release done today and was so brave!! And man, I could just scoop up all the cute kids 😍 😂

It's always a hard conversation to have when someone is already in braces, and you question the width of the palate. I don't like making people feel like back tracking, BUT...

Seeing cases like this....it's worth that uncomfortable conversation!

For example, this cute kiddo! Having the expansion of palate done will help her keep her tongue where it's supposed to be, improve her ability to nasal breathe through the rest of her life, which will help with quality of sleep, brain function, moods and many many other things along the way!!! So....YES...it was worth it!!!!

💯One crucial piece of our puzzle has been chiropractic care. Dr. Preece has been so good for all of us!

😝All of us have had tongue ties, one was starting to develop scoliosis, 2 had primitive reflexes, and all except the baby have posture issues that can be directly related to this tight fascia. And Dr. Preece has helped us with it all!!!

🙋‍♀️When you come in to see me, the first place we start is with your posture! And whether you prefer massage, chiropractors, acupuncture, yoga...whatever it is, body workers are vital to a healthy body and mind and I love helping you find the help you need! 🫶

Thank you for sending me this graphic! This is something alarming....just how many people I see on a daily basis who have extremely narrow palates 🫣🤔 I wish this was something taught in hygiene school as part of a regular curriculum...how many kids could we all help!!!!!!
Imagine the prevention of sleep apnea, just for starters!
