Day in the Life of a Genetic Counselor
Did you know we have genetic counselors at Children’s? Follow along as we show you a day in the life of Erin, a genetic counselor within our Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center.
In her role, Erin works across multiple clinics helping patients and their families learn more about their genetic makeup and history so she can educate them about hereditary cancer risks and screening.

Pediatric Illness Awareness Match

From the Golden Spike Hitter and scarf designer, Nick, to the honorary captain and kit number designer, Aiden, to Eliot ringing the celebration bell during halftime, our patients showed their strength and resiliency at this weekend’s Atlanta United FC Pediatric Illness Awareness match. Both on and off the field, our kiddos and their families were part of every minute of the special game.
Ever wonder what it’s like to be a pediatric physical therapist? Follow along as we show you a day in the life of Julie, who works as a physical therapist in our NICU.
Julie is a certified neonatal therapist who is specially trained to care for our smallest and most vulnerable patients, some born as early as 22 weeks gestation. Throughout her shift, Julie provides therapeutic interventions to help babies feel calm and interact with their environment. She also works closely with parents and caregivers in the NICU.
After working as a physical therapist at our Egleston Hospital for more than six years, Julie is excited to continue her work at our new Arthur M. Blank Hospital.
One small snip for a pair of scissors, one giant leap for Georgia’s kids. ✂️ On Friday, we celebrated Arthur Blank’s birthday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Arthur M. Blank Hospital. This great man’s legacy is not in this building, but the impact this building will have on future generations. Arthur M. The Move is Complete!
