Mi Organic Essence On a mission to uncover some truths about toiletries and our health... Also taken from their website. Or, it will reduce the APPEARANCE of fine lines…not remove!

Hi Guys, as most of you know, I'm officially a chemist (soon to become Dr Murphy I hope) and I'm constantly surrounded by chemicals all day in the lab. Recently I’ve been wondering how this is affecting my health and have been doing a bit of digging around and a bit of light has been shed onto the chemicals that we're exposed to in everyday life. I've been doing a lot of "research" into the toiletries (and lots of other daily necessities) and I'm actually shocked at what the cosmetic companies (and lots of other industries) put into products which we literally bathe ourselves in every day and get away with it. It might seem a bit counterintuitive me complaining about chemicals when I use them every day but “most of the time” I’ll be protecting myself from them by using safety gloves. When we’re slapping that moisturiser on our bodies we’re certainly not protecting ourselves from the all chemicals in them! Now when I write this people might think I'm going crazy or paranoid but there is so much information out there to the contrary to what these companies advertise as beneficial for us. Here are just a few websites which summarise simply why there's so many things bad for us in them...

http://www.nhs.uk/news/2012/01January/Pages/parabens-in-breast-cancer-tissue-studied.aspx

I find this is particularly interesting as the defence most companies have is that even if parabens are harmful, the chances of them penetrating the skin and staying there are slim…but seeing as parabens are synthetic, how are they getting into our body and more worryingly, why in cancer tumours?? Maybe it’s the fact that 57% of all skin care products contain "penetration enhancer" chemicals like Propylene Glycol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate that drive down deep through five layers of skin and illegally hijack your bloodstream. http://www.shareguide.com/cosmetics.html

Another big issue is the use of xenoestrogens (foreign/synthetic estrogen which is a female hormone) which are widely used (incl. in our toiletries) and these are suspected to have disastrous effects:

Increase in reproductive-site cancers (breast, uterine, & ovarian) ,Decreased fertility in both male and females , Estrogen dominance, Increased incidence of prostate cancers, Heart disease, Diabetes type 2, adult onset, Premature Ovarian Failure, Uterine leiomyomas, Prostrate Cancer, Obesit, Thyroid Disruption, Testicular Dysgensis Syndrome, Endometriosis, Uterine Fibroids
Now please don’t quote me on those, this is the website that it’s from

and here is another interesting read if any of you ladies feel like you’re having problems in our wonder regions

I’m just putting this information on here which is readily available but is relatively unknown unless you’re actively looking for it like me :) I’m a chemist and this is recent news to me…maybe now if you’re still reading you’re starting to think I’m going crazy…but for me it all seems to make sense!! Now, more than ever before do we have people diagnosed with behavioural problems, allergies, fertility issues and cancers. I’m not saying that the toiletries we use are the fundamental cause of all these things but maybe everything added together, how we are used to living in a “modern world” helps fuel these symptoms. There are lots of these we can’t control…I for one probably won’t give up Nandos because it’s not organic chicken…but if there are small things we can change then…WHY NOT?? I found a company in Australia and they're the world’s first certified organic…well here’s something off their website anyway

“Organic and Natural Enterprise Group (or ONEgroup) is an Australian based company who creates and manufactures the world's first Certified Organic skincare, haircare, personal care, health care and cosmetic products. ONEgroup's range of products stand in a class of their own by being independently certified to international food grade standards by some of the world's most respected organic certifying organisations, namely, Australian Certified Organic (ACO), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and IFOAM (Europe).”

Now it’s important to know the difference between what a lot of cleaver advertising is marketing as organic between what is officially or “certified” as organic. "Education is the key to empowering consumers to see through the 'green- wash' of slick product marketing to recognize products for what they really are. Misleading labels and clever advertising relating to organic content often mask the use of potentially toxic ingredients, which seriously undermines the integrity of the organic claim." Now having done lots of research I personally feel like this company creates products which are trustworthy and true to the “organic name”. There are a few problems with the company however…

1) They are based in Australia so the exchange rate for the products are high

2) They are based in Australia so the shipping costs are also high for small orders

3) Their policy is basically the closer the consumer is to the producers, the
fresher more potent the product is…so the company basically makes the products monthly and so technically there is no warehousing (in the UK), advertising or retailing. All in all it makes the products more expensive for us in the UK to purchase. BUT even so, organic crops contain 25% more essential nutrients (iron, magnesium, phosphorous and vitamin C) and the products are super concentrated so last much longer than regular products. Apart from the 3 issues raised, this company delivers on every other aspect and so I decided to become a representative of the company to sell these products over here. I’m all for making some money off it but I’d also like to “educate” people about the hidden baddies out there and try and make them more accessible here in the UK. If your interested in the products please have a look at the webite…

Don’t worry about the price and shipping costs but post on the wall or inbox me. If I can get group orders I can place them and remove shipping costs etc and I should be able to offer discounts to people who contact me on here first. I hope this has been interesting (not scary)…I just think we need to be more informed about these types of things but unfortunately we’re not. The cosmetic industry is a multibillion dollar industry and they spend billions of dollars a year on false advertising to cover this up. Next time you watch an advert listen to them saying…it will make you hair FEEL…not your hair IS…that just silicon products forming layers on your hair. Anywway…that’s just an after thought! :)

If anybody would like to book a consultation with me and we can discuss products or have a spa party and you can receive 20% of your order then message me. I have free samples for those people TRULY interested! Just write on the wall or inbox me! # # #
