🙏 The power of mediation 🙏

Honestly, don’t knock it til you’ve tried it...

Many years ago I heard about meditation and thought it was a bit ‘woo’ and just for yogis or monks 😂 (ha I know, I was pretty naive back then!)

Nowadays I can’t live without it! 💜

If you’ve never tried it before or have tried it once and thought ‘na it’s not for me’ then I encourage you to persevere with it as, like anything, it gets easier with time ⏱

For me personally, I feel it brings me:
➡️ calm, balance & inner peace to my otherwise busy life
➡️ gain clarity over big decisions
➡️ develops my intuition/inner voice/guidance
➡️ increases my happiness & well-being
➡️ gives me inspiration for new ideas 💡
(Literally just had a brain wave for an exciting idea/collaboration while I’m back in the UK soon... watch this space! 😁)

Furthermore, if you’re a parent or a teacher, meditation is great for kids too! 👌 I used to do it with my class to help them focus, destress and gain their own inner peace, calm & happiness within- they loved it! (And it gives you 5 minutes of peace and quiet too 😜😂)

✨The power of intention & accountability ✨

Last night after an awesome coaching call I was feeling pumped and had set myself an intention to get up at 5am for a 5:30am hiit class...

Now for the past couple of weeks I had also had this intention but having been ill with a cold and yada yada (excuses) I had not managed it as of yet.. So last night I asked for some accountability from my buddy & I also stuck a post it over my phone (under the bed!) with a reminder so it was the first thing I saw as I went to turn my alarm off

So 5am, alarm goes off, I’m not gonna lie I was sooo tied and could have made so many excuses just to turn my alarm off and go back to sleep.. but I remembered my intention & accountability, so I got up, got ready, ran down to the gym, fell over on the way (yep literally stacked it, keys and water flying everywhere the lot!), cut my hand quite bad, put a plaster on it and powered on!

Half an hour later I’m feeling even more pumped, exhilarated, (a little sore) & ready to take on the day! 💪

This is not a post for ‘poor me’ or ‘go me’ but to inspire others to think if I can do it then you can too! What’s an intention you’ve been meaning to set for yourself but have struggled to do so far? What extra steps could you do to make it happen this time? Who can be your accountability buddy to keep you on track?

*Mindful Monday*

Most of us (myself included at times) can tend to spend our lives on autopilot, going about our days or travelling from A to B without even realising or noticing how we got there, whether that be driving, walking, at work, at home, with friends/family, the list goes on...

However, when you take a moment to be present, to pause, to look up and notice your surroundings, you really start to notice and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

Here are a few pics from my walk down to the beach today, a walk I have done many many times before and yet have failed to notice some of the stunning scenery along the way.

Working with Laura doing timeline therapy was AMAZING!! I wasn’t sure what to expect but as we travelled in to my past and looked and dealt with trigger events that I wasn’t even consciously aware of, I immediately felt a huge release and like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Laura is so talented and I felt so comfortable all the way through the session and I am so glad I chose her to lead me through the session.

What a wonderful Wednesday 🙏

Perfect start to the day with a great coaching session to help a friend discover her passion and purpose (which she’d been struggling with for a while) in a matter of about 5 minutes! ✨

Followed by a fab timeline therapy session (to remove the negative emotions of anger, sadness, fear, hurt and guilt) 👌

Followed by a delicious lunch in the sunshine ☀️ then an amazing session with my coach and a clear message that came through for me 💜

My workspace yesterday... I always find being out in nature or having a clear space to do my work really ignites my imagination and sets my soul on fire 🔥 so for those of you who may be stuck inside, working from home or in an office, try take some time out (even if it’s just 5 minutes) to go for a mindful walk or stroll out in nature and see how it affects your mood too.

For a while I’ve been working on trying to listen to my heart over my head and have been thinking about this a lot this week and actually come to the decision that actually when you’re head, heart and spirit are aligned (ie your mind, body & soul) then you know you’re really on to a winner 👌

Courage is saying no to the things that don't serve you...

Despite having a full on week of back to back calls and meetings, Wednesday evenings are my time for me.

In the past I used to hate saying no to people in the fear of upsetting them. Now I know when it's best to fulfil my own needs and wellbeing instead.

So book yourself a date with yourself. A time each week for you to be just you. To do the things you love, that light you up inside and fulfil your own needs.

Afterall, when your own cup is full, you can pour that into others 💜

Have there been times in the past where you've wished you could have done something that you didn't, that maybe you wanted to do but somehow you managed to talk yourself out of it? Maybe something that scared you so you put it off until 'someday'...?

What if there were a way to rewire and retrain your brain to overcome that fear in order to find the courage to step up and do the things that you didn't think you could do before.

What if you could find the courage to do anything you wanted in life? To live a life without limits? What would life look like then? What would you do differently? Where would you be? Who would you be with? What would you be doing?

Therefore courage is not about having no fear, it's about being able to act in spite of the fear.

I'll be honest... today has been one of those very lazy days I like to refer to as a 'Sofa Sunday'. A day of lazing around watching tv and hanging out in my comfy clothes while the rain drizzled outside.

It's not often I stop and do nothing as I'm used to being busy and on the go, however it's important to allow yourself the opportunity to press the PAUSE button at times, to relax, refresh and get ready for another new week ahead.

Sometimes in life we spend so much of it in fast forward mode, speeding through life almost on autopilot half the time, and then wonder why it can lead to burnout, stress and illness.

Take time for you, to let your body and brain have a break, to spend quality, uninterrupted time with your loved ones, and just have time to chill. Your brain, your body and your loved ones deserve it!

Isn't it funny how things work out sometimes...

Today I met a friend who wanted to tell me about 'an idea' they had and wanted to share with me for a possible joint venture, which funnily enough happened to be the same idea I had a couple of weeks ago...

Naturally we got chatting about how we could put our heads together to make this idea a reality and started to plan our exciting venture together...

Then, just as we were saying goodbye and we turned to go our separate ways, I looked down on the ground and the first thing I spotted by my feet was a little feather... (And for those of you who know me well, know that feathers are my spiritual sign that things are going in the right direction and that I'm on the right track!)

So, why do I share this story with you? Well maybe there's a few learnings you can take from it yourself. Here's what I learnt today:

1) Sometimes we don't have to know the 'how' when we first have an idea, but simply by putting the idea out there, the path will be paved for us 🙏

2) Don't be afraid to share your ideas with others, 2 heads are often better than 1 👥💡

3) Be aware of the subtle signs in life that give you little clues you're on the right track 👌

Did you know we all have an instant stress buster built within us?

Can you guess what it is...?
When we are stressed, our amygdala gets triggered and we can often go into fight/flight mode and therefore are not able to manage our emotions and reactions as effectively.

One way to control this instantly is simply with your breath. Yep it's really that simple. Our breath helps decrease cortisol in the body (our stress hormone) and can switch off that fight/flight mode to help you handle your emotions and reactions from a place of calm and control (rather than fear/anger/anxiety).

So next time you feel that anxiety or stress rising, take a moment to pause... breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, breath out for 4, hold for 4... and repeat until you're relaxed and ready to respond appropriately 😊

How can I do better next time?
How can I choose to interpret this?
How can I react differently?

We can't control what happens around us but can we control how we react to it and what action we take from there.

Are you searching for a morning meditation to create a peaceful and positive mindset? Listen to this 10 minute guided mediation daily to align your mind with the energy of prosperity, productivity, connection, insight, joy, vitality and peace and clearly envision living your ideals throughout your day.

According to studies in neuro-science the first 20 minutes upon waking are the most powerful for introducing new information because when you wake you are entering into the world with brain waves that are dominantly alpha, which are known as the bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind.

When you choose to prioritize this opportunity you create clarity, allowing you to move through your day both present and purposeful in all your thoughts words and actions. It is like training for a marathon, you cannot expect to get up and run 40km without repeated preparation and practice, without clearly envisioning what you need to do and how to do it. The odds of failure are astronomically high. The same goes for your daily life. If you wake up in the morning and go about the same morning routine you always have, you are telling your mind that it is all good to repeat the exact same day as you always have. You must introduce a new plan for your day, you must envision thus instruct you mind as to what you want to experience.

Science tells us that the subconscious mind runs 95% of our day and when instructed can work for you behind the scenes in bringing to fruition what you have focused on. Have you ever noticed that when you buy a new car you see it everywhere? That is because you have invested time and money (resources in the world that are highly valuable) so your subconsciousness registers this car as important and alerts you to its presence when it crosses your path. You can do the same with your ideals, when you use the most valuable time of the day (first 20 minuted upon waking) to do this meditation you are instructing your mind to recognise opportunities when they cross your path that will allow you to bring your ideals from your mind into your life.

*Thoughtful Thursday*

I saw this on the back of a toilet door today and it really made me think - what if anxiety is actually just a form of your ego, that little part of your brain (the amygdala) that is just trying to protect you and keep you safe.

So what if, instead of being fearful of these thoughts, you listen to and embrace them and thank that part of your brain for trying to keep you safe. (You can still be grateful but choose to not necessarily accept them as true). And hey it might even come in handy if you've already mentally prepared for the 'what if' scenario if it did happen to occur anyway 👌
