Support nervous system function – it's involved in neurotransmitter activity.
Aid in gene regulation – biotin helps regulate DNA replication and gene expression.
Most people get enough biotin through their regular diet, but some might take supplements for hair or nail health, or if they have a deficiency (which is rare, but can occur, especially with certain medical conditions or long-term use of some medications like anticonvulsants or antibiotics).

Probiotics work mainly by maintaining or restoring the balance of healthy gut bacteria, often called the gut microbiota. This balance can be disrupted by factors such as antibiotics, stress, poor diet, or illness. Consuming probiotics helps to replenish beneficial bacteria, aiding digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune function. They may also help reduce symptoms of digestive disorders, such as diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Dietary sources of probiotics include fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, and tempeh. Potassium in supplements comes in many different forms—a common form is potassium chloride, but other forms used in supplements are potassium citrate, potassium phosphate, potassium aspartate, potassium bicarbonate, and potassium gluconate. Research has not shown that any form of potassium is better than the others. Most dietary supplements provide only small amounts of potassium, no more than 99 mg per serving.

Vitamin A also helps your heart, lungs, and other organs work properly. Carotenoids are pigments that give yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables their color. Your body is able to convert some carotenoids into vitamin A.

There are two different sources for vitamin A:
Preformed vitamin A is found in fish, organ meats (such as liver), dairy products, and eggs.
Provitamin A carotenoids are turned into vitamin A by your body. They are found in fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based products. The most common provitamin A carotenoid in foods and dietary supplements is beta-carotene.
