There are almost 12000 doctors graduating from 83 medical colleges of Bangladesh each year. But only a handful of them turn out to be successful. As most of the people are attracted to already established doctors, the newly graduated doctors are unable to find a decent number of patients. Furthermore, patients always complain that their doctors are constantly in a rush during checkups. It’s also tough to get their appointments and it’s impossible to get instant medical help from them. On the other hand, lack of women healthcare leads to thousands of fatalities around the globe. Reasons such as social taboo, financial crisis and lack of proper knowledge deny women around the world a healthy life. We believe our young doctors deserve a chance to have a shot at their careers and all the women around the globe deserve proper adequate healthcare and hence, we present to you the mobile application "Nightingale" which works as a link between doctors and female patients and solves both these problems at once.
Our app has five individual segments. The first three segments (pre menstruation, menstruation, pregnancy) are mainly informative sections. Each user will be assigned to any one of these sections depending on their age and physical state. The users will find helpful blogs and FAQs in these segments. It will clear out the doubts in their minds during these periods in life. In our fourth segment, the "Live Medic segment", the users will get access to a wide range of professional doctors registered under us. Using our live medic feature, you can connect with any doctor according to your problem and fix an appointment just by pressing a button. In the "Emergency segment", you can call for any of our nearby available doctors in case of emergency for primary treatment. Most of the newly graduate doctors find it very difficult to get patients and they lack proper practice. In our app, we provide them with these two facilities along with a handsome income source. So, they are sure to be interested to work with us. New doctors will be recruited by our expert recruiting unit. This unit will consist of 3 to 5 experienced doctors and some human resource personnel. Each doctor will have a personal rating and review section to ensure quality service. They will receive bonuses depending on their rating to keep them motivated. Also, users can report any problem and our team will look into that matter closely. In short, trust issues of the users will be dealt with properly. Our key partners for this startup will be BRAC, bKash and Google play store. Through BRAC, we will reach out to the common people and bKash will be our in-app transaction partner. To accommodate for the costs incurred in app development, forming of recruiting unit and server office, we have estimated an initial investment of BDT 70000. We have decided to run our app on a form of pseudo-currency(coins). The users will have to perform in-app purchases using bKash to gain coins. These coins are needed to consult with a doctor via text (BDT 3.00 each) or to fix an appointment (BDT 300.00 each).
