“When ice cream is that good, sometimes the spoon just isn’t enough 🍦🙃 Eating should be satisfying, joyful, and yes—even a little messy sometimes. Food isn’t meant to be stressful—it’s meant to be enjoyed. 💕

Ever feel tempted to eat something just because it looks delicious? That’s sight hunger.

Sight hunger happens when you’re drawn to food based on how it looks—like a perfectly frosted cupcake or a colorful fruit platter—even if you’re not physically hungry.

This kind of hunger is normal and valid.
✨ Eating with your eyes is part of the experience—and honoring that desire without guilt supports a peaceful relationship with food.

This is Part 4 in my series on the different types of hunger. Next up: emotional hunger 💛

Not hungry yet—but know you will be soon? That’s practical hunger.
This type of hunger isn’t always felt in the stomach—it’s about using your head and your body to fuel yourself with care.

Maybe you’re heading into a long meeting or a busy afternoon and you won’t get a chance to eat for a while. Honoring your needs before hunger hits is a smart and compassionate choice.

✨ This is Part 2 in my series on the different types of hunger. Stay tuned for more—including taste hunger, emotional hunger, and sight hunger.

🌾Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a plant-based powerhouse that’s technically a seed, but cooked like a grain. It’s naturally gluten-free and a complete protein—meaning it contains all 9 essential amino acids your body needs to build and repair muscles. 🙌
✨ Unlike many animal-based proteins, quinoa is low in saturated fat and packed with fiber, iron, magnesium, and antioxidants. It’s a heart-healthy option that supports energy, digestion, and muscle recovery—especially important for active folks!
💡 Try it as a base for grain bowls, in soups, or mixed with roasted veggies and a drizzle of olive oil. It’s quick to cook and toddler-approved in my house too. 😉 Pictured is quinoa taco meat from that’s super easy and delicious: https://minimalistbaker.com/quinoa-taco-meat/

🧠 Ever wonder what it takes to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)?

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a food and nutrition expert who has met rigorous academic and professional requirements to earn that title. RDNs are trained to provide medical nutrition therapy, support behavior change, and translate complex nutrition science into practical, personalized guidance.

To earn the RDN credential, someone must:
✅ Graduate from an accredited university
✅ Complete a master’s degree
✅ Finish a 1,200-hour supervised internship
✅ Pass a national credentialing exam
✅ Complete continuing education every 5 years

It’s a serious commitment—because nutrition is complex, and you deserve advice that’s grounded in science, not trends.

👉 Fun fact: All dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians. (The term "nutritionist" isn’t regulated in many states.)

Hey friends! Have you ever given tempeh a try? This fermented soy powerhouse isn’t just a tasty addition to your meals—it’s packed with benefits that support a vibrant, nourishing lifestyle. Here are a few reasons to consider adding tempeh to your plate:

🌱 Plant-Based Protein: Tempeh provides a complete protein source, making it a fantastic option for anyone looking to boost their protein intake without relying on animal products.

🌱 Gut Health Boost: Thanks to the fermentation process, tempeh is rich in probiotics that can help support a healthy digestive system.

🌱 Versatile & Delicious: Whether you’re marinating it, stir-frying it, or adding it to salads, tempeh’s nutty flavor and firm texture make it a versatile ingredient that can fit into a variety of meals.
