Bright Birthing Our services include a free consultation, which usually takes place in a prospective client's home or somewhere nearby.

We offer childbirth education, discussion of options and creation of a personalized birth preferences document. During labor we are available with aromatherapy, massage, guided imagery and companionship throughout the experience. After a birth we meet again with families to admire their accomplishment and co-create a birth-story, honoring the utterly unique entity that has come into the world. Our diverse backgrounds and experience lend so much to expectant and new families - be in touch to find out how we can support you and yours.

Need a little science today? Check this out. "...findings "support the view that exclusive breastfeeding during early infancy may help protect against CPP in both sexes, mediated in part through reduced prepubertal adiposity." In this cohort study of 322,731 children in South Korea those who were exclusively breastfed had a lower risk of central precocious puberty than those who were formula- or mixed-fed. https://www.medpagetoday.com/pediatrics/generalpediatrics/117045?xid=nl_mpt_morningbreak2025-08-19&mh=60f7b1961a3c622960418ed6803b5040&zdee=gAAAAABm4vBQkhqXC0mJdkyl5SrWqk4Clr5Tf04pBnCl9irdKZTksDCzFkTrQ-NqRnHdT0fc_wd2xR5fKSzM_feuU3OMwh-QDkG7YsdMmKKKjZPbAQRKfDk%3D&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MorningBreak_081925&utm_term=NL_Gen_Int_Daily_News_Update_active&fbclid=IwY2xjawMWDvlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHvANg_i5t36fmQHJ9X-I64MDSHa66gsx5jeagwzPUa2RJlLFjureacbSDj3A_aem_EpUG3d0AREMXzPPAafojZQ

All babies lose some weight in the first 24 hours. If you received IV fluids during labour, your baby may lose even more, not because of feeding, but because the fluids make the birth weight look higher than it really is.

That’s why the 24-hour weight is the most accurate starting point for tracking growth.

Researchers in Canada found that using the 24-hour weight instead of the birth weight helped more babies stay exclusively breastfed in their first few days of life.

Growing well = getting enough milk. ❤️

Thank you to this mama for sharing her story. 💙

"My story starts before I was even born. My grandmother worked for Jefferson OBGYN as a nurse. That is when I met Dr. Arnold, and he watched me grow up. Almost 15 years ago, he delivered my 1st born son and was the VERY best with me as I was young, scared of delivery, and didn't know what to expect. Throughout the years, having another child was tossed in the air multiple times, and FINALLY we decided to go for it. So, we got pregnant in 2024, and boy, was Dr. Arnold so happy for us. He was so attentive and just wonderful. On January 28, 2025, we welcomed our second-born son. Watching our 14-year-old and our newborn is such a gift, and no words can describe the feeling. Thank you, Dr. Arnold, for keeping me and my boys safe and for such a wonderful experience."

In the weeks after my baby was born, I was floored by just how debilitated I felt physically, but also by how beautifully supported my family was by the community around us. Lucky for us I had been working in the birth world for six years already at that point and among our friends there are lots of
