A detailed look at a plaque (blockage) inside an artery using OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography).
Green arrow: Relatively normal looking artery
Blue Arrow: Cholesterol has accumulated deep within the wall of the artery as seen in the form of fat particles.
Over time, if not controlled, it will result in thickened plaque as seen at 12 o’ clock and eventually become calcified and cause obstruction.
