🌙 World Sleep Day 2026 - 13 March 2026
✨ Theme: “Sleep well, live better.”
Sleep is not a luxury—it is a necessity for health and wellbeing.
This World Sleep Day, we spotlight why sleep quality + sleep quantity matter, especially for children and adolescents.
🔹 Childhood Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA)
Our research has shown that untreated OSA disrupts sleep, degrades sleep quality, and can lead to serious long-term consequences, including cardiovascular and metabolic complications.
👉 Tackling childhood OSA is essential to protect health and help children thrive.
🔹 Adequate Sleep Duration
We have demonstrated that a significant proportion of school children and adolescents in Hong Kong fail to achieve the recommended amount of sleep. Inadequate sleep is not just about feeling tired—it is linked to a higher risk of obesity and elevated blood pressure, both of which can affect long-term health.
✨ Our message on this World Sleep Day
Pay attention to your sleep. Both quality and quantity matter. By sleeping well, we can live better, healthier, and happier.
