My little yoga buddy this morning. ✨ and yes he gets lots of kisses during sun salutes! ❤️ New year is of course a time for fresh intentions. Remember working with your nervous system is best - so small daily sustained change is far more impactful and kinder to our systems than massive volcanic changes! ✨ Creating a simple ten minute a day practice of calm or self care will quickly become a lifestyle and way of being. 🍃 start your day right, start your day by nourishing your nervous system and welcoming calm. ✨What are you calling in for yourself this year? How will you show up for yourself with kindness and care? 🍃

Say NO to things that steal your time, exhaust you, cause you stress or complicate your life. We must make room for the things, experiences and people that bring us joy and peace. It’s so easy to get in the habit of delaying the fun positive hobbies or things we love to do. This coming year say YES to yourself, to nourishing your needs, to doing what you love ❤️✨❤️.

As conflict deepens in our world we must take a stand for peace. Peace within ourselves, and peace for all beings. 🌷 Choosing to be calm and radiate peace is a radical act. Choose to be in harmony with yourself, your family and friends, your community and the world. 🍃🕊️🍃

When we live life from a calm, connected and embodied centre, we discover ease and flow. We live life from our intuitive knowing. Taking action, making decisions and following our. inner nudges, leads to an authentic life in alignment with our inner truth and values.

Taking the time to support your nervous system in staying resourced, grounded and calm is vital for moving through life in a balanced way. Every day is so full of demands, noise, stressors, and to-do lists. It's an onslaught of things vying for our attention.

Mindful Self-Compassion, (Germer & Neff), is the ability to foster compassion towards yourself during times of stress, to adopt a beginners mind, with the understanding you are doing your best and life is a journey of learning. Instead of being self-critical, or berating yourself, you choose to be kind and compassionate. This is a powerful tool for building positive self-esteem and self-love. It breaks destructive cycles of self-criticism, shame and negative behaviour or self harm. We are open to the present moment by being mindful and aware, in calm equanimity with an open and kind heart turned towards our own selves.

When we shift our awareness and respond to life from a place of calm we enter into the flow of life, creating more ease and grace in our interactions, choices, opportunities and experience of living.

Take a pause or a breath before reacting, slow things down and allow spaciousness and you will greatly amplify the quality of your life to where you thrive instead of survive.

Self care is not all fluffy blankets, rose petal baths and massages. Damn! It's actually about the tough stuff. The hard conversations, boundaries, the disappointing of others, the shelving of guilt and people pleasing in order to back yourself. Self-care is a deep loyalty to your own needs, your boundaries and your inner voice. Remember our love and care for others is only authentic if it includes ourselves.
