Wishing you and yours a blessed Winter Solstice!
On this Winter Solstice, let us bring our hearts and minds together to honor the longest night with its velvety dark sky; seeing the ancestors shining among the stars. The darkness of this night gives us an opportunity for deep reflection and much needed rest; the light of the new day gives us clarity and vitality. Grateful for the blessing of both.
Whether your form of prayer is keeping good thoughts, fasting, meditation, or religious prayers, our prayers are stronger when offered together. So from wherever you are, let us pray, sing, and offer our firelight, each in our own way, unified in intention, for the benefit of all.
I will light a fire and also place a blue candle on my altar in honor of the solstice and of blue Huitzilopochtli, Left-leaning Hummingbird who flies as the sun, guardian of the south; of willpower, volition, and rebirth — calling on its gift of powerful solar medicine for strength, peace, and good health.
May our prayers bring healing, good health, unity, and harmonious relations to our families and among friends, neighbors, and the world.
May the longer days ahead bring increasing love, wisdom, good health, hope, peace, and prosperity to all.
All Our Relations,
Maestra Grace
